    Is Eli Manning Elite?

Voted no. It's just tough to believe he can carry a team by himself and has continued to prove he's not quite there yet this year. He got swept by the Redskins this year and shut down by the Saints' defense. Losses against the 49ers and Packers are somewhat excusable since SF has a great D and the GB game was close. I think he's on the cusp of being considered elite and that a second Superbowl victory would have to cement him in that tier, especially with his awesome WR corps and more so if the Giants can resign Manningham and Ballard for next year. Going to be tough to do that with a ring on their fingers though.

New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49'ers

Exactly. I've seen far lesser helmet to helmet hits called -- which this was -- so the lack of consistency in rulings makes this appear unfair. I do agree that the Lions fans can argue that the call in their game was wrong, but it also didn't end up being the difference in the game. That's what makes the Thomas his sting, and I bet you that hit is called anywhere other than San Francisco. Such is the power of home field. Just look at the Green Bay game. Also, "Reality" is too hellbent on being a condescending douche to accept that it is open for debate. He even responded to my message twice separately just to deride a differing opinion. I wouldn't spend much time on trying to have a reasonable discussion with it.

    Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens

Dunno why I keep watching with Yates wanting to pass the ball to the purples so much.

New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49'ers

The third quarter was a snore, but that was a great game. The Saints fan in me wants to complain about the illegal helmet to helmet hit on Thomas which ended up being the difference in the game (turnover instead of TD), but given all of the other TOs in the game, it's tough to feel cheated or anything since the Saints shouldn't have won yet still had a chance in the end. The ridiculous thing was watching the clock, seeing Brees with 2:11 left and confident he'd pull out the game winner, but then of all people, Alex Smith does the same with less on the clock. Looking forward, I think the 49ers can handle Green Bay. After all, what is Green Bay but the Saints without a run game? Still bummed that I won't get a Saints vs. Tebow Superbowl though, and I don't think any future games up will be as exciting as yesterday's.

    Cheating commish ?s

How so? He picked people up, changed his mind and cut them, and then another grabbed them. Happens all the time. If it's legal, which this has to be for it to go through, then I cannot see how you can possibly say it's against the rules let alone "clear cut collusion."

    Tebow implosion

    6-6-_ ?
  7. Paid sites should simply block you from registering. That's the problem I see with this. Fan Duel threw up a warning stating that I couldn't play since I live in one of the FF prohibited states. CBS, ESPN, and any others really need to do the same and call attention to the easily foreseeable problem before the person agrees to pay anyway just to play, even if it means losing out in the end.

    The Tim Tebow train

Tebow had a good game, but that fumble of his did factor into the quick hole Denver got into early in the game. The Bronocs have won largely by being a mistake free football club. Tebow doesn't make risky throws for interceptions. The team generally doesn't turn the ball over (yes, I know he fumbled last week). When you count the missed PAT and the points made off Denver's three TOs, that's the 18 point swing by which the Pats won. Given how strong Denver looked prior to all the TOs, I'd still say that the team matches up well and could take New England on any given day, but mistakes such as those it made today can cost any team a victory. Denver is, or was, pending how it plays out the rest of its season, playing "playoff football." I see no reason to consider the Broncos an illegitimate team, though haters will note (somewhat correctly) that the Broncos have yet to beat a strong playoff contender.

    Toilet Bowl Contenders

So I won my last but still find myself knocked out, just outside sitting in 7th place. Now is the time for the Toilet Bowl. Do you people still care about your line-ups for these sorts of concessionary games? Just curious. I'll still be playing for the limited bragging rights, but I know many people just give up and stop adjusting their rosters once out of the proper playoffs.

Tebow showing his true colors today

This is probably the dumbest thing I've seen here. A challenger appears. Tebow is playing poor, but the game is not yet over. Brees didn't get any TDs til the 2nd half himself. No, of course Tebow's not on par with Brees, but we've seen plenty of Tebow playing better in the 2nd half to write him off just yet.

anyone nervous about Brees this week

I don't have Brees, but I am a Saints fan and Colston owner, and I'm benching him in favor of Julio Jones. I just don't see this being a pass heavy game, and last week's stronger emphasis on the running game indicates to me that Payton is getting things in motion for the winter run and playoffs. He must know that the road through the Superbowl will go through Green Bay, so now's the time to prepare for winter football.

Wonder how much he has on the Bears winning.

    Hillis

I wasn't about to play him, but it does make me sorry that I wasted all season letting him rot on my bench. I was wrong to spite the Madden curse when I drafted Hillis. Any hopes of a last season surge from a healthy Hillis has to be all but gone now and probably died weeks ago for most owners.

For those that bashed Wade Phillips...

Vic Fangio deserves mention here and would get my vote if you're doing some kind of "most improvement in defense from a 1st year defense coordinator" contest. Doughboy knows what he's doing which helps, but he's also playing with a solid team long built on defense and with a quality offense. Fangio is doing more with less.
