Hardcore troubadour 12,631 Posted August 18, 2017 Usually have to be BIG...or An Irish mma fighter. He was the last guy in the rich guys club to sign a black player. Someone had to be last. Ok, he's guilty of that, but that surely can't land him in the "notorious" racist category, right? In mean in that time period blacks were getting lynched and couldn't eat at a lunch counter. Is the guy second to last who signed a black player notorious too? What's his name?
ZeroTolerance 582 Posted August 18, 2017 The Red Sox had multiple black players in their farm system during the 1950s, with the team failing to promote them despite the successes other teams realized after integrating black players.[9] During this period, the Red Sox went from perennial contender to failing to finish within ten games of first place for 17 years (1950–1966).[4]As owner of the Boston Red Sox, the team's policy on integration ultimately was Yawkey's responsibility.[10] In 1959, the Red Sox became the last major league team to field a black player, Pumpsie Green, twelve years after Jackie Robinson's rookie season with the Brooklyn Dodgers and two-and-a-half years after Robinson's retirement. Robinson would later call Yawkey "one of the most bigoted guys in baseball".[8] Another controversy involved longtime clubhouse attendant Donald Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick was accused of sexual abuse of minors between 1971 and 1991 while working in the Red Sox spring training clubhouse in Winter Haven, Florida.[11] The abuse was reported to the team by victims and players who witnessed it, but Fitzpatrick remained employed.[11] Yawkey, and later his wife Jean after Tom's death, protected Fitzpatrick from the allegations, according to two sources with knowledge of their relationship.[11] In 2002, Fitzpatrick pled guilty after being charged with four counts of attempted sexual battery for actions between 1975 and 1989.[11] Even ignoring the racism question, I would think you might want to rename the street over his decision to shield baseball Sandusky there. I don't want to hurt or hinder anyone. I just don't want to be around certain groups, For the most part. I once walked amongst them. I saw enough to know they weren't my kind of people, at least groups of them. I like some pepper on my mashed potatoes. Too much pepper ruins them.

Hardcore troubadour 12,631 Posted August 18, 2017 Patrice O'Neil: "Ha....they won't get that joke....too many white people" Anthony Jeselnik: "Too many white people......you know what nobody ever says? Too few black people" Funny you say that. A few weeks ago I took a very wealthy, very liberal couple to see the eagles and a few other bands at citifield. When we were driving back I asked about the concert. The wife said it was great and Whoopi Goldberg was sitting next to them. She then said it was a shame that the crowd wasn't very diverse. Oh sorry Buffy, it's too bad that black people didn't want to go hear 70 year old Don Henly sing Peaceful Easy Feeling and Heartache Tonight. I told her she might have better luck the next day when Earth Wind and Fire were opening for Fleetwod Mac. There she was at a concert in incredible seats bitching there weren't any black people there, as if they were being kept out. Fockin liberals

Is the guy second to last who signed a black player notorious too? What's his name? He wasn't just last, he reportedly (and it was never denied) did not sign players like Jackie Robinson and Willie Mays because of their race. His denials were only that they were not good players. Read about Tommy Harper and his issues with the team well into the 80's. Even those of us here in Boston are not proud of Yawkey with the exception of his support of the Jimmy Fund. This twat didn't give 2 chits about Fenway being on Yawkey way, for the 15 years he has owned the team. Now he cares? Fock him. Should have changed it 10 years ago. If I am not mistaken, this has been brewing for a few years. There was talk about this back in 2014. My guess is that the timing is much better now that there are events outside calling attention to this sort of thing. The Sox are sometimes good at hitting the PR timing correctly. vuduchile 1,941 Posted August 18, 2017 Let's just call our plan what it is. As a country, we plan to systematically eradicate all historical artifacts, monuments, and symbols that are in any way connected to any caucasian American who lived between 1776-present day. Carry on.
