Kopy 491 Posted January 25, 2017 Didn't Mack get his ankle rolled up on in the last game?Yup. Last I heard, if the game was this week, he might be 50/50 on playing. But because of the bye week, he'll be ready to go. Obviously might not be full strength. But he'll be shot up if he needs it, taped up, and in there.
weepaws 2,459 Posted January 25, 2017 Lol oh yeah he will be on that field. Even if it calls for a full roll of duct tape
RoadLizard 73 Posted January 26, 2017 You actually suck at the "facts" part. Incorrect. Look, your boys have a very shady reputation and thats the way it is. Its OK. It happens. Its just, well, they made their own reputation so they have to live with it. As we all know - once you get caught doing cheesey stuff it is VERY likely that you have done other cheesey stuff but havent been caught. Thats all. Dont worry, your records and accomplishments are in-tact... just that, well.... we'll see. No doubt they've made the most out of this watered-down era. They dont make the schedule and they can only play who they are assigned to play. Very successful team over a long time. Its just unfortunate that there has to be this cloud always hanging around them. Oh well. So be it.

RoadLizard 73 Posted January 27, 2017 This is representing your point of view much better than your posts in the jump the shark thread. Just sayin. Yeah - I was soooooo pissed at the terrible playoff games. Went off the handle there. Again - not saying The Pats and Brady/Hoodie havent done great things. It just sucks for them IMO that there always has to be this "yeah-but" associated with them. WHY did they do that stuff? It seems so silly & trivial, so why do it and potentiallt tarnish the legacy somewhat? Was it really that important to do that stuff and whatever else we dont know about? Time will tell. 10-15 years from now we will see how this run gets remembered.
Kopy 491 Posted January 27, 2017 I'm gonna be really interested to see how the Patriots do next year. See if they can come back to the rest of the pack alittle. That AFC East schedual is pretty brutal.

This was the facts that I was talking about: And be extra careful of being videotaped in practice or whatever else. That cheating crap cost the Rams the SB in 2001. Remember that fiasco? Best offense ever *mysteriously* shut down by a team that never played them before. Coincidence? Not really but whatever. As mentioned by another poster, the Patriots did play the Rams earlier in the year in 2001.
Cruzer 1,992 Posted January 27, 2017 NE, traditionally, does not fair well against SB spreads. I believe they are 1-4 in their last 5 appearances. I like Atlanta to win by 4.

RoadLizard 73 Posted January 29, 2017 Pats win. ATL is 8-8 next year. Pats are back in SB. *yawn* ho-hum... Probably accurate. Yawn is right. How focking boooooring is this getting? Parity? Who? Huh? There's one good team in the entire NFL. Worse than it's ever been. Teams come and go like one night stands. Can't believe anyone likes this crap. It's unwatchable. NE has zero resistance whatsoever in the putrid AFC. Just awful. Good for them but could there be a bigger and easier red carpet path to the SB than they have? 6 automatic wins within the division every year. Then...who else? The focking bengals? Right. The Texans? Nah. The AFC west? Nah. NE Should just rest their staters week 1and save them all for the playoffs. It's that bad.
Loaded Box 5 Posted January 29, 2017 Been waiting to chime in until we recorded our Super Bowl 51 Preview Podcast (found in signature if you're interested in listening), but I think we're all hoping for a close game - and hopefully a new winner The good thing about this game is there are several aspects to key in on including: Ryan vs. Brady, top offense vs. top defense, the likely NFL MVP in the Super Bowl, Brady and Belichick chasing history, etc. While a lot of us think New England will come out on top when it's all said and done, I'm very intrigued for next Sunday's game because very few teams have slowed Atlanta down; and New England - while successful on defense - hasn't been tested the way it will be. I'm really interested to see how New England will treat Julio Jones. I know Malcolm Butler wants his chance to take him on, but there's also the chance that Butler will take away someone else and they will attempt to use a different corner and safety combination to neutralize Jones. TD Ryan2 314 Posted January 30, 2017 Probably accurate. Yawn is right. How focking boooooring is this getting? Parity? Who? well... NFL ratings and revenue are at an all time high (or maybe just peaked). it's certainly not boring for fans of the teams that are actually winning... it just seems NE is simply atop of the AFC dominance shared by a few organizations, lemme 'splain: Including this SB (with NE representing AFC), over the last 22 Years (going back to '96 when GB beat PIT), only 7 AFC Franchises have been in the SB NE (8) DEN (4) PIT (4) BAL (2) IND (2) TEN (1) OAK (1) that leaves more than half of the AFC in a 20+ year SuperBowl drought. But the AFC has still won the majority of SB over that time, (12 not including this year). So it's not like the entire AFC just suxor, b/c they're beating the NFC often. And if we go back even further beyond GB / PIT in '96, it doesn't help much... we only add 3 teams (SD, CIN, BUF) to get '95 SD (loss to SF) and then 4 years of BUF ('94 to '91 - all losses) and then DEN, CIN, DEN, DEN, NE going back 30 years still only gets just above half the AFC teams into the SB. has "parity" ever really existed? weepaws 2,459 Posted January 31, 2017 Wasn't the Packers, it was the Cowboys. I don't like parity in sports. I like to see great teams be great and than there is the Browns. So every thing is line up.
giraldi02 470 Posted February 1, 2017 With regards to parity, or the perceived lack thereof... The past EIGHT Super Bowl winners, in order, are: Steelers, Saints, Packers, Giants, Ravens, Seahawks, Patriots, and Broncos. I don't know about anyone else, but the ends are justifying the means for the parity argument. Particularly true if the Falcons pull off the win.
weepaws 2,459 Posted February 1, 2017 Sure would like to see more money bet on the Patriots. Want to see the money line go up for the Falcons.
giraldi02 470 Posted February 1, 2017 Sure would like to see more money bet on the Patriots. Want to see the money line go up for the Falcons. Not gonna happen. That line isn't going to move one bit. Every sportsbook in the world knows that if it does, a sharp is coming in with 50k-100k max bet in a heartbeat to bump it back down
weepaws 2,459 Posted February 1, 2017 Think your right. I'm going to wait until Saturday and see what happens. But I agree don't see it moving. Prop bets here I come.

Every sportsbook in the world knows that if it does, a sharp is coming in with 50k-100k max bet in a heartbeat to bump it back down I'm hearing 65% of the action has been New England. How has that line not even moved even a half point by now?
weepaws 2,459 Posted February 1, 2017 Like the poster said , if they move the line the Sharks will come out and bet it down. I think they like the line where it's at. I'm just hoping to see a little bit bigger money line by Saturday, so if your betting on the Patriots please hurry.
giraldi02 470 Posted February 1, 2017 I'm hearing 65% of the action has been New England. How has that line not even moved even a half point by now? Last I read, while the action is leaning more towards New England, the money is about 5-7% closer to 50-50.... So it makes sense. The payout for the current spread has shifted a bit too. This morning on Sportsbook ATL was even money with the points. I settled for that...but ultimately it'll be the props that most of my money gets spent on this year. For what it's worth, Treasure Island in Vegas actually does have the line at 3.5 right now and they've had it for a week at that point (1/24). They appear to be the only place in civilization that has that. West Gate, William Hill, Wynn, etc all are staying firm at 3.
weepaws 2,459 Posted February 3, 2017 Very concern about the Falcons if Mack doesn't play.
RoadLizard 73 Posted February 5, 2017 I predict this game is over by halftime. If that long. It's actually a good thing though since that means everyone can get on with their lives and be done with this silliness. Good night for a movie or something. Blowout coming soon. The Falcons will magically play like crap. I can see an early pick by Ryan which basically ends this game right there. Or, pats just score at will on their first couple possessions which is also game over. Maybe a BS penalty or two will come into play? No way this game is close though. No effing way. Halftime score: NE 24, ATL 0 or maybe 3. NE can rest their starters the second half of the game, LOL. See what jimmy G can do? Maybe plug in more unknown white receivers so they can go off for 8/200/2? Yawn.
Kopy 491 Posted February 5, 2017 Official prediction. Atl 37, Pats 36. Gostkowski misses a game winner as time expires.
jimaveli 119 Posted February 5, 2017 Very concern about the Falcons if Mack doesn't play. His injury terrifies me either way. That and Julio's Toes and Feet. I could see both having issues during the game which could ruin Atlanta if it's close. In my dreams, everyone plays the whole way through and we get to see how it goes. Matthew Ice laying something resembling an egg is on my mind as well. I'm expecting to enjoy it either way cuz I don't 'need' a down to the wire dramatic game even if I'd prefer it. Kent 228 Posted February 5, 2017 If Mack didn't have a leg fracture they'd have an even shot. If Mack is not himself they are gonna get rolled.
