    Is fantasy football worth it?

This is probably how Phil Emery feels IRL.

    Marquess Wilson...worth a pick-up?

I think it is underestimated how much Marty B operates as the next guy up when Marshall and Jeffries are out. He was booming early in the season when they were both injured and went off again with Marshall out. Terrance Williams comp is correct in my book (and best case), and I own all of these players in one dynasty or another (where even crap is worth rostering as a lottery ticket). Wilson is a good sleeper, but he's the #3 at best on a bad offense. Opportunity just isn't knocking that loudly here. Him going 3 for 40 consistently would be considered good, and any td a fluke on the order of a donte rosarrio score. Not impossible but unlikely. FWIW, he's still adding bulk to a thin frame and could be an interesting player to watch next year.

What Coaches will be fired this season?

the torches are out in Chicago. It's not just that we're 3-6, but that our DEF has been historically bad for 2 years. I can see him staying, but his big achievement last year was offense, and we've been wretched there this year as well. Strong DEF HC with a capable OC run WCO? Too much to ask? Tenn please take cutler's contract for a draft pick. We'll give you a third.

    Brown vs Dixon in Buffalo

Thanks for the perspective! I'm going off info gleaned from the net rather than a long watch history. I read his college history as a case of being screwed by Kiffin ditching Tenn, scholarship tomfoolery to make him have to pay his own way at KState.

    Brown vs Dixon in Buffalo

I don't see evidence for this opinion, JT. Bryce does ok in the passing game. He's got the size to do pass pro. Sometime it takes time to develop the technique, but he's had the opportunity to develop that at the NFL level now. I'd be more worried about their oline overall than rb blitz pickup myself. Willing to have my eyes opened if you can point to something specific as evidence regarding your concerns.

    Brown vs Dixon in Buffalo

fwiw, I went back to see how they were used in the preseason. Brown seemed to get touches ahead of Dixon, though Dixon produced more in the 5th game (because HOF) in part because Brown left with an injury. But he returned later, so that's a good sign about his toughness. Dixon poached a goal line TD in one scenario where Brown had run the series to that point. Also, it seems to me that people who are naysaying Brown based on fumbles... well that appears to be based on the three fumbles he had in his high profile fill-in for Shady. The same two games where he put up monster numbers. Otherwise he hasn't displayed fumbleitis imo. The knock on him bouncing outside... he's got the 3cone agility speed that demonstrates he should be effective at that at the nfl level. So, if the defense tries to scheme him to do this as they typically do all rb's, he's got the rare speed at his size to make them pay. Plus it should mean less hits for his body if he's going to the sideline. UPDATE: Just saw Dixon ran with the ones today at practice. OK, but what does that mean? It's ok if he starts... that's what spiller's role was. FJax was the guy in on passing downs and consequently the better fantasy play. So if Brown plays second fiddle but that translates to passing down back, he'll receive plenty of usage. Conclusion is I'm higher on Brown and think he'll be the better play, but fock it I hope they don't let Dixon poach every goal to go carry.

    Andre Ellington - 10 catches a game?

160 receptions is never going to happen lalalalalalalalalalalalala IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!

    Andre Ellington - 10 catches a game?

Four catches a game would be 64 on the season, and it would be a great groundwork for reliable PPR production. A solid RB2 puts up about 13 ppg. That means that he'd have to average 90 yards per game to be a contributor to your championship level squad if he scored zero TDs. Let's say he gets 4 recs and 10 rushes a game. If he keeps his yards per touch near 6, the 85 is an attainable number. Even if he isn't getting goal line carries, you figure a guy who is electric in this role could go 6 - 8 TDs. 960 / 64 rec / 320 / 6 total TDs = 228 ppr total and 14.25 ppg That puts him in last year's RB11-13 territory: Fred Jackson, Danny Woodhead, Gio Bernard Cut through the hyperbole and you get the type of role that makes a lot of backs very fantasy relevant. The trick is delivering it. He needs a 3.5 ppg bump from last year to deliver.

    Jeremy Maclin

Agreed with Stew. Cooper isn't a #1 FBN, but he is a sizable RZ target and the team obviously likes him so he's going to be involved. I'm also thinking Ertz takes some RZ looks this year in an expanded role. If you add up the total team's TE production from last season it's good not elite. The bulk of the TE looks and Ertz is a solid starter at about Martellus Bennett's level last season. That combined with more attention to the position in the Offense and he's a top 3-6.
  10. The Vikes are playing for fourth place with DET in the NFCN. They don't have a QB, and it's a brutal cycle to escape.

NFL says dunking on goal posts will be a penalty in 2014...

Humping the goalpost counts as a prop - yes or no? Fixed:

++ UPDATE - DeSean Jackson signed by Redskins

Well yeah, that's what made the trade block / release scenario so insane in the first place. You're forgetting a few key components of the situation: 1. Maclin 2. Sproles 3. Ertz There are guys who are on the team who are hungry for that production. Maclin had better production than DJax and was drafted a few rounds higher last year in fantasy. The coaching staff saw him through the preseason, so they know how he handled the install on offense. Also, DJax doesn't fit Kelly's ideal WR body type. The message if DJax comes back is clear: know your role. His salary is way too high. They'd probably love him on the team at 6 mil / season and no complaining. If the offense gets redistributed like they want it to, DJax is looking at an 800 yard season next year. He's likely to be cut after the season if he refuses a paycut. That's why they're trying to get a modest return now. An extra third rounder would have let them reload RB depth.

++ UPDATE - DeSean Jackson signed by Redskins

I agree with FBN that neither the 9ers nor the colts are good fits. The 9ers more so, but there is no way they've got room for 10 mil a year for another receiver. Jets, Car, and OAK make way more sense, as they are so bad at the position that even in a deep WR draft year it would make sense for them to add djax and a rookie. CAR would be the best able to utilize him given they've got the QB position stabilized. JETs would get a boost from Decker by adding him, also. I don't think Decker would be too pissed to be the second fiddle salary wise, and their target potential would be about even I would think. OAK would.... I don't know. Also sign Vick? Poor Oakland. The third rounder asking price is reasonable, imo. There are enough teams that fit that it balances the huge price tag that would keep him from being slotted in as a second WR in many more offenses. For instance... If DJax's salary wasn't so high, it would be interesting to see him play in CLE, but that's never going to happen.

    Decker to the Jets

He was a third round pick playing out a rookie contract right? It's not like he's flush - he's been underpaid for two years.
