The Black Knight. I did a search and could not find where this has been discussed on here before.

Here is a short video on it.

Here is a link to the images of this thing, in case you have never seen the declassified photo of it.

I love that the first thing that comes up on your link is the black knight from Monty Python.

I'd never heard of it before. I looked it up and wikipedia has a small entry on it confirming there were newspaper articles like those mentioned in the video. I don't have time to look more into it.

:(

I am not asking you to put hours of research in, just looking for what folks thought about this and if they had ever heard about it.

I didn't mean to sound dismissive. I'm at work right now. I had three half hour classes to teach. Now that I'm back I have more to say.

I'll try again.

I had not heard about this before. The first time I learned about it is from you when I opened this thread and I thought it was interesting enough to look up more information on it at wikipedia. I learned that early newspaper articles on the subject from pre-space age launches are real. I don't know why it's not discussed or if it's been debunked or not.

I don't know how anybody could claim it to be 13000 years old but if it is, that'd be a particularly early time in human pre-history when the last ice age was just ending and the domestication of animals was starting. Still a few thousand years away from settling along rivers and forming civilizations let alone writing. Modern humans have been around for 200000 years but we have only really started developing civilizations in the last 7000 years or so. Any visitor from 13000 years ago would have wondered if these dumb focking monkey would ever get their asses in gear.

Right now I don't know any more than you, I am curious though.

If it was anything important, we would've already went up there and retrieved it.

There's no entry at snopes so I dropped a note and submitted it over there.

What if those numbers are off? What if the civilizations from 13000bc are more advanced than thought, and were wiped off the earth by an ELE?

The ELE did a really good job of cleaning up all proof of previous civilizations while leaving not a shred of evidence to suspect otherwise while also having the fore-site to cover their tracks by leaving behind cave paintings, bone fragments, and primitive tools with such a well designed logical scheme from before and after 13000 years ago such as to completely throw off every future human archaeologist while also leaving dinosaur fossils untouched.

I found this explanation from what seems like a pretty responsible site: http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4365

Government cover-up.

If NASA ever discovered signs of extraterrestrial life, everyone invoked in the reasearch would be giddy. The findings wouldn't be covered up. Instead they'd get treatment like this: http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/snc/clinton.html

I wanna name her Dottie after my wife. She's a vicious life-sucking from which there is no escape.

Remember when the Mars Rover was sending the first images back to Earth which were being broadcast live?

What do you think NASA would have done if the Rover had inexplicably panned over an old Coke bottle lying on the ground.?. My guess is they would have IMMEDIATELY cut the broadcast.

I asked him when it showed up and he said:

"Ah, it seems like only yesterday."

Howard Stern is much older than we suspected. Well, maybe not that much older.

And somehow I resisted the "Are you Sirius?" joke.

Thanks for the response man. Did you see the explanation of the age in the video??? Some shtt about where this constellation was 13,000 years ago from Earth, at least according to the dude that supposedly translated the signal.

There are no old coke bottles to be found on Mars but you know that.

So, I presume by this that you mean you buy into the conspiracy theory that they stage footage of this stuff. In that case too, there wouldn't be any old coke bottles on the ground either.
