Upper Class Trash 67 Posted April 17, 2014 This guy is an enigma. He's going into his 3rd season in an offense that should suit him perfectly. With the Green Bay scheme coming to replace Gilbride's train-wreck of an offense, Randle seems destined to blow up this season. That said, I have my doubts. He's still not a good route runner and he plays smaller than he is. I drafted him in my dynasty leagues a few years ago and have some wild offers for him. There are owners who believe he is going to be a WR1 in 2014, so much so that I was able to trade Randle for the 1.01 in a rookie draft. I have more faith in Watkins than I do Randle. What do you think of him? I'm bantering this about in my head as I have another very solid offer for him on the table in another league. I'd hate to trade him and have him put up 85-10-1150 numbers after waiting on him the prior two years. Still though, something keeps telling me his route running will keep him more as a WR3 who blows up now and again verses a true top shelf WR. I don't mind dealing him as I own him in all but one league I am in and prefer to not have the same players on all my teams anyway. Pros: Giants upgraded the interior of their line which should give Eli more time to throw Jennings was added as at RB which should help the passing game New offense seems to be a perfect fit for him (mostly slant patterns and outs - overall simplicity of the offense will be great) Plays in a division without any true lockdown CB's or stout defenses Decent size at 6'2 and 210 Cons: He will see better CB's this season and possible double coverage (no great CB's though) Eli argued with him on the field last season after running the wrong route again Six of Eli's picks were blamed on Randle, showing how bad his route running is Gilbride wasn't sold on Randle and Jernnigan may split time with him Giants could still draft a WR

Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted April 18, 2014 Trade him now. Eli isnt getting any younger. Randle may end up a solid wr but i do not see anything special with him.
smashmouths@blf 33 Posted April 19, 2014 I think his ship has sailed. I know he's still fairly young but he's had plenty of chances. Frozen is right, Eli isn't getting any younger either.
Gepetto 977 Posted April 19, 2014 I have no interest in having Randle on any of my teams.
MDC 5,876 Posted April 19, 2014 I'd actually love to grab Randle as a 4-5 receiver in the late rounds. He's a likely starter on a pass heavy team and that gives him value. His route running leaves a lot to be desired and the upside in there. My big concern is whether Eli is now toast.

Of course if Giants grabbed a WR in the early rounds, Randle's stock will drop sharply.
Raider 84 29 Posted April 20, 2014 He has the potential to be the best wr on the Giants. Should see lots of red zone targets. I'm willing to grab him in my leagues.
ckleinhe 2 Posted April 21, 2014 i'll go against the grain and say randle is a good candidate for a big season and solid wr1/2 career. i think the concerns about Eli, while valid, are overblown. a good wr produces regardless. not saying randle is like these guys, but andre, calvin, gordon, for example, have all had great seasons with crappy qb play. and if Eli is at the end of the road, then NYG will likely draft a QB very high in the next draft, which is good in the long run for randle. hakeem nicks is gone. that pretty much guarantees randle is on the field all the time. volume opportunity. even bad or below average WRs are worthwhile if they get enough volume (see: stevie johnson). new offensive scheme. as noted, gilbride's scheme had gotten stale, so if the new scheme is a better one, then that's also a plus. finally, i really think it's hard to trust any rookie wr over randle. that said, if i had depth at the position, i'd trade him for rookie 1.1 pick too
