46 correctional officers charged in years-long drug trafficking sting

Recommended Posts

The FBI arrested 46 current and former correction officers in a sting at nine facilities around Georgia, as a result of a two-year undercover operation went down early Thursday with raids by FBI at the prisons.

The probe found that prison guards and staff were smuggling contraband such as liquor, tobacco and cell phones into the cell blocks for money. Inmates used the illegal cell phones to commit wire fraud, money laundering and identify theft

Officers are also charged with using their badges to facilitate drug deals on either side of the prison wall. The trafficking is said to include multiple kilos of cocaine and meth in exchange for thousands of dollars in bribe money.

Not going to be very pleasant for them on the inside.

This is one of the best arguments AGAINST the war on drugs. We can not even keep them out of the focking prisons, yet somehow, they think they can put a dent into them on the outside.

It is BEYOND BELIEF. :D

Cops go to segregation (seg) inside. 23 hours in a solitary cell, 1 hour out alone. Pretty brutal, but for their safety.

My biggest gripe with the war on drugs is paying for it. I don't mind locking these fockers up. I like that our crime rate is down... the problem is they're so expensive to clothe/house/feed/guard and the government is broke.

In Mexico, if your family doesn't bring you food, you don't eat.

Back in the eighties they predicted the blacks would be damn near extinct by now.

And yet, they are still here. I blame the Kardashians.

It would be nice to sell criminals to other nations. Let them do as they please with them etc. maybe the government of say, Sierra Leone would like to have some hardened retards for their military etc? Everyone wins.

We've arguably made it worse by associating it with harder crimes - if you want to do drugs now you've likely got to buy them from somebody who's also involved in illegal guns among other crimes. And if you get caught and go to jail your ability to hold down a job upon release is pretty much wrecked, just because you chose to put something bad in your own body.

Dumb all around.
