JJ Nelson week 2 sneaky start

Recommended Posts

He has a horrible QB and no RB to take pressure off the WRs, Indy will score no points so it will be a low scoring game.

There is the downside to starting him.

The upside....Indy sucks too.

I was looking at this as a sneaky pickup as well. I am considering benching martavis for him. I have already been told i am crazy so let me have it.

I tried telling everyone in my David Johnson thread that the Cards might be a sneaky passing team now with no real running game to lean on.

Bombs away.

If Palmer hadn't completely lost it 2 yrs ago I would agree

And 8 TD's in his last 10 games. He's a big play threat and has the speed to burn past anyone. I love the upside here and he's worth a gamble.

had a solid week last week, John Brown is out

that is all

oh yah INDY

I think he's a very sold sneaky play.

But not over Crabtree and Benjamin.

You talking about a flex spot?

Real sneaky...

I'm just shocked with all of the experts on here with perfect drafts, and loaded teams that we have to reach for WR4s by Week 2.

Yeah funny comment. I have some really good teams but I got crushed at WR. AROB done. Crowder banged up hip. Woodhead done. Now my #4 WR was M.Jones and Cupp was my #5.

WR2 this week, Cupp, M.Jones, Agohlor, or JJ. Ugghhhh

Flex one of those or James White.

So injuries can hurt. Thank god I have Antonio, Gronk, Hunt and Ingram to score some points.

I traded Benjamin, not actually starting Nelson was just tossing the name out

I agree, JNelson should have a good game and I also believe Palmer will rebound and reward his owners.

Agree, it's a good matchup for them and a good matchup for a team that just lost their best player.

He does average about 52.0 yards per/rec, therefore if he does have a couple receptions you'll get your yards and perhaps a score. Just seems like a pretty big reach to me.

Lol a big reach would indeed be why the OP is calling it a sneaky play.

It wouldn't be a sneaky play if it was simple.

I'd have no problem playing Nelson with JBrown out and Indy secondary depleted. Fire him up.....and enjoy the long td catch.

I'm one of those guys. I drafted Zeke, Demarco, and Hunt 1,2,3. I figured there were plenty of tier 2/3 WRs to be decent enough in a standard league.

There are 22 targets from week 1 that are now unaccounted for as David Johnson (9), John Brown (9), and Jermaine Gresham (4) are all out. Safe to say that Nelson will get more than the 6 targets he saw last week.

I'm rolling him out at my flex position. I think he gets some deep shots and the Indy D is burnable. If he gets a step on the CB and the Indy safties are out of position he can hit a big play. I made a big run last year throwing out these sneaky WRs like Gabriel and Locket when they had plus match ups and they helped me win some games.

The only negative with JJ is his hands and also he doesn't like to catch in traffic (what small guy does?)

The only reason I would play him is because I'm getting cold feet playing either of my Vikings receivers- Diggs and Thielen.

Thank you LORD for allowing me to see the wisdom in replacing Diggs for JJ.

Your appreciative son,

Nice call.

Nelson had had an additional TD earlier that was up on the board for a couple minutes before it got taken away (don't know the details).

Failed to toe tap the catch

I plugged him in flex last minute for West

Nelson was actually about one total yard away from having a 3 TD day.

He received a target right at the goal line and was just tackled at 1 and then he has the toe tap in the end zone that was originally called a TD but he just missed getting that second foot down with very little real estate left in the corner of the endzone.

Absolutely fantastic game. I'm glad I started him but even more importantly, I'm glad I added him for free on Friday instead of having to burn a waiver on him after this performance!

I've noticed these speculative/educated guess pregame additions are the difference between the good teams and the bad in FAAB system.

Good call.

I added him before the game as well. Will be great if Brown stays out

When is the last time Brown has been healthy?

I really don't think you have to worry about what Brown can do for you.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians "doesn't know" when John Brown (quad) will be healthy.
Brown played in the season opener at less than 100 percent. He's already ruled out for Sunday's game and could miss multiple weeks. The Cardinals are trending down with injuries to Brown and David Johnson. Chad Williams will replace Brown in four-wide sets. Sep 15 - 8:21 PM
