What's The Best Format For A Dynasty Draft?

I remember there being some studies and literature on this. I believe it said that ABBA or ABBBA was the most fair, while true serpentine (ABABAB) created a huge disparity.

What do you all think?

I'm going with ABBA, but I've heard that ABBBA is pretty good too. I think ABBBA might make more sense for a deep basketball league or something though tbh.

auction is the answer.

This. But if not auction im wondering why a true snake draft is unfair

Top tier talent diminishes after a few picks I guess, so then you go to Tier 2 which can last for quite a while. A team at the end of the first round could wind up with 3 Tier 2 guys, while people at the top could wind up with an Elite tier guy and 2 Tier 2 Guys. It might be more fair if it is ABBA so that a team can end up with 3 Tier 2 guys, vs 1 Elite, 1 Tier 2, and 1 Tier 3.

I agree with the auction answers.

I did partake in a start up once that went:

1 through 12 in round 1.

1 through 12 in round 2.

Then the serpentine started in round 3..

So the guy with pick 12 drafted last in round 1. Last in round 2. Then top of round 3. And then continued the serpentine until the end.

It worked out very well for us. No complaints.
