Burt 43 Posted February 26, 2015 Can I make a request? When drafting a pitcher, could everyone please post whether they are a starting or relief pitcher (SP or RP)? I see most putting just "P". We dont just say "IF" for a 2B do we? The reason I ask this is because I'm using the Draft Buddy that McGregor advertises on the site and it makes it simpler when searching for players who are drafted. Many I already know whether they are a SP or a RP, but when we start drafting obscure no-name pitchers I spend a lot of time search back and forth between the two positions. WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted February 26, 2015 Yeah I always put the position I intend to play them at. For example ben zobrist. I'm not going to put 2B,Ss,OF. So I put Ben Zobrist, SS, Oak. Obviously he can play anywhere but for he purposes of the draft I'm drsf5ing him as my shortstop So in a situation where a pitcher qualifies as a reliever and starter I would suggest listing him as you intend to use him for clarity sake Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
posty 2,296 Posted February 26, 2015 I change all of the SP and RP to just P in my spreadsheet, since it doesn't matter as there is multiple "P" slots in both my leagues... Or is it official only when someone makes a pick after you, time wise? Example, pujols is now official for lambert because the Bluejays made a pick.... I know we ran into an issue with this last year or the year before with pick switching. Say I wanted to change my pick now because I misread my sheet or an injury. No! Been too long. Next people are already planning and picking based upon who's up there. I think prior excuses were bringing up things like, "well technically no one who could draft that player has picked yet" but that mentality opens a whole can of worms. WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted February 28, 2015 Melvin Upton has been diagnosed with sesamoiditis in his left foot and is expected to miss all of spring training. Sesamoiditis is inflammation in the bone behind the ball of his foot. Upton will be in a cast for two weeks and a walking boot for 4-6 weeks after that. He won't be allowed to resume baseball activity until at least early April and is expected to be out until at least May 1. It's a tough break for a guy in desperate need of a bounce-back season after hitting just .198/.279/.314 in his first two seasons with the Braves. I only see maybe 2 people getting totally raped before their pick. then it becomes fun and why I love this league so much. Trying to figure out not only what you need for your roster but how long you might be able to wait on a certain player, moves you might make to intentionally cack block another team, how you will lose half your draft sheet in one round and the players are mediocre anyway.... not knowing your supplemental slot is also great, can't bank on anything but at the same time if you have a list of supplemental players, you can make some educated guesses. I knew the Red Sox were going to get hammered so I had to take V-Mart right out of the gate and hope my other top play snuck through (and I got lucky).
