Online veto voting, what do u guys use?

Recommended Posts

We had a lot of drama this year about the veto voting and I want to get rid of manager voting next year and at the same time, I don't want to do a Commissioner only vote. Is there an online veto voting that u guys use that random people vote? I don't want to use this site nor sleeperbot app coz they might know our secret stuff here, lol. Also if u guys have any suggestions on how to do this the right away, pls fire away. Thanks a lot guys and good luck to those of u that are in the playoffs.

No voting. If someone has a problem with a trade they let the commish know. If it's a valid argument, the commish can take it to the league and let the parties involved explain their sides. Commish makes a ruling. Eliminates all of the "it makes one team too good," veto votes. If there is collusion, it is pretty obvious based on the arguments made.

Brutus is right. If your commish is honorable and decent, that person should take on the responsibility, take it seriously, and handle it logically.

Besides having scumbag commishes, the biggest challenge with any league is owners who dont have enough perspective to understand that they are in a league. Aka some folks are too self-centered. Their team. Their injuries. Their bench. Their faab/waivers/moves. Sucka please! Any team in a league is a part of that leagues universe. And people not paying attention to the league as a whole opens up a world for bad trades to happen. If theres a notably bad or unlucky team, the league is out of balance. If the activity level and/or general fantasy football knowledge is dramatically different between owners, it also changes things. But the average person doesnt think about any of that and how they factor into it.

Thats how horrible trades can happen. A wolf gets a sheep. Thats also how trades get vetod for shady reasons like the It Makes One Team Too Good. Thats not a veto situation. That should be a Dude, dont do that trade unless you want to donate a championship discussion.

Vetoing a trade should only happen when theres somewhat obvious and dramatic difference in the value of the assets being exchanged. Thats a tough case to sell at times, but other times its pretty clear to anyone who is paying attention to the league, the teams, and the actual football. Vetoing a trade should not be someone showing up with a triple beam scale and saying that the trade isnt perfectly even in a vacuum.

Ie: I traded Alex Smith for Jimmy Graham and some free agent acquisitions in a limited moves league. Folks were happy because I was the points leader and folks thought I was losing the trade. Fast forward 6 weeks and what do you know?

In my league on completion of a trade, it is automatically vetoed. Cuts down on all the red tape.

 This.

If you have reasonable people in your league, the commish will have to make a real decision on 1 or 2 trades per year max.

the rest are essentially rubber stamps.

I think we should. If there is foul play involved, you just made all of us accessories after the fact.

You did the right thing.

To use an analogy, if you trade away $10 and get $10 back, you are cool if it happens, and cool if it doesn't. It's when you are giving away $5 and getting back $10 that you'll be pissed if the trade doesn't go through.
