Wison sucks

Recommended Posts

I'm sure the kid is a good egg, and I'm sure he has a pretty good arm. But there is a reason 5'11" qbs aren't flooding the NFL market. I'd be really concerned if my franchise quarterback was that short.

You're giving Wilson too much credit, he is 5'10

Are you serious? Wow, that is pretty amazing.

I'm neither a hawk or Pete Carroll fan, but there's a reason Flynn didn't beat out a lightly regarded rookie. Flynn parlayed a week 17 garbage game into a big contract. It's not like the hawks are sitting joe Montana - the kid won the job and deserves a decent chance to make it happen.

If Wilson doesn't appear to be progressing in a month, then the ? Can be revisited. Most nfl teams' offenses struggle the first few weeks especially when implementing new personnel.

Arizona D also can be quite tough at home and against division rivals.

The combined points for all the teams this week was the second highest of all time.

You know the Seahawks suck when their fans are saying they made a mistake in cutting TO, and are giving Wilson the benefit of the doubt when he ALMOST beat a godawful Cardinals team on the road. If Wilson continues to be average what does it do to his confidence if he gets benched? It makes zero sense why they wouldn't at least start Flynn for the first few games and if he sucks let Wilson start.

You're underrating the Cardinals. Also, Owens can still play. Carry on though.

If Owens could still play he'd find a place on a roster, that's usually how it works in the NFL. If the Cardinals were good they wouldn't be starting John Skelton at QB, and go 8-8 in 2011 with a -30 point differential in the worst division in football.

Owens can't find a place on a roster because he's an @sshole. The Cards are a sneakily physical team with possibly the best WR in football. Ease up on the hyperbole.

I'm holding on Wilson as my QB2. Let the kid get his sea-legs under him. I still assert that he has something.....however, it is his WR corp that concerns me. If (when) Rice goes down....then what?

hey guys, give the kid a break. it's his first pro start.

did you think he was gonna walk in and perform like Eli or Peyton manning in his first pro game?

That's just not reasonable. I watched him play the one exhibition game and he looked really good, but now hes adjusting to the full intensity level of the regular season (which I would argue is 1 or 2 steps up from exhibition level competition)

I'm not a huge fan, but I suspect it will be at least 7 or 8 games before you truly even have an idea of what you have in Wilson.

Take a seat and chill until that time comes. Then you'll have a better idea of what this kid truly brings to the table.

Remember how Elway & Brees kinda sucked at the beginning of Their career too?

when you make this kind of decision you make it for the long run, not for today.

That is true when it's the top 3 draft pick you just paid a gazillion dollars to. Not some punk upstart who had a good camp and 2 qtrs of preseason. There's no wait and see on a whim experiment.

LMAO!!! Cleveland Browns had a chance to beat the Eagles too... Let's not overreact at Weeden's 115 yards passing, 4 ints.

But he didn't throw 4 interception or for 115 yards. He threw 1 pic and would have thrown the game winner if Braylon Edwards could catch the ball. Then his stat line would have been 150 something, 2TD's, 1 Int and game winner. He can't catch the ball for the guy.

I love how everyone says Matt Flynn is the real QB, yet Russell Wilson out played him. If he is a real QB then why is the fake QB out playing him?

I think that the Seahawks really don't need to take such a risk to start a rookie QB right now. Not after going out to sign Flynn and then benching him. If anything, Flynn should get the start and give Wilson some NFL experience. If Flynn doesn't work out, then the rookie gets the shot. It appears Carroll handled this situation backwards. Oh well, with the upcoming schedule before the bye, I think Flynn will get the chance. Once that happens, Wilson's confidence as a rookie is done.

Actually, the old way of doing things was having the rookie sit on the bench. That isn't how they are doing it now. 5 rookie QB's are starting this year, Dalton and Newton had lots of success as a rookie. You learn more by getting experience doing something, not watching someone.

To me, you haven't outplayed someone unless its in the regular season. Camp doesn't count. So Wilson hasn't outplayed Flynn, since Flynn hasn't played. oh and the time Flynn did play he threw 6 Tds. Garbage game that shouldn't count? Fine I'll grant that, but it's something.

It's not a whim experiment, the coaching staff loves him and drafted him to be a starter. He just took over a lot sooner then most expected.

and the INT was a meaningless deep shot at the end of the first half.

The hype got way out of control. Doesn't mean the guy can't improve as the season goes on.

I get where you're coming from. I'm sure you feel frustrated that Seattle paid for a high profile free agent QB and now they're not even starting him.

I get it.

however, just an FYI.

all the scouting reports I read on this kid indicate that if he were 3 inches taller he may have been drafted in the top 3. From what I can tell, Scouts totally like tall QB's and this is the very same reason Brees wasnt drafted in the first round himself.

trust me, if you look at the scouting reports on Brees coming out of college, they look pretty close to the scouting reports on this kid.

to sum up the scouting report:

he makes all the throws, easily and accurately, he reads defenses well, and adjusts when needed. cool under pressure.

but they didnt like his height.

There will be an adjustment period to the NFL game. it took Brees a full year and a half to get up to speed himself.

another FYI: in college he had a better passer rating than both Luck and RGIII.

All I am saying is this is not some punk ass kidd who knows nothing and came out of nowhere. He was highly regarded as a prospect with the exception of his height. All the reports I read said he was an early first round talent who is considered too short.

That being said, Seattle must be high on the kid and maybe even saw more in him than the scouting reports say. I am not privy to that knowledge, but I dont think they'd start him ahead of their multi million dollar free agent if they didnt think it was worth their while.
