With Hyde being traded, this opens the door for Chubb. Who are you starting him over? My flex is Jeffery. Should I put Chubb in. He has a great matchup against Tampa.

He could do very well. He is fresh. However, I gonna slow my roll and temper expectations just a bit. TB has given up a ton of yardage through the air to RB's....but have been rock solid against the run....possibly suggesting that Duke could have the better game.

Here are RB rushing-only stats against TB

Kamara - 8/29
Clement - 6/30
Ajayi - 7/33
Conner - 15/61
Howard - 11/25
Cohen - 13/53
T. Coleman - 10/35
Ito Smith - 11/22

That's 2.8 ypc yielded to some pretty decent RB's thus far.... :dunno:

The problem with Nick Chubb is he cannot pass block.  RBs that suck at pass blocking are at-risk of getting benched, especially after the franchise QB takes a nasty hit.  I can't guarantee it will all go wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Chubb whiff on a block at some point in 2018 and Baker Mayfield gets injured, and then we wind up seeing a lot of Duke.  I own Chubb and am thinking of selling high on him.  Ideally he has a huge game this weekend and then I trade him away for something more stable.

Hard to trade away a RB after having a huge day. Especially someone who's looked great, albeit a very small sample size. Either way, Cleveland has confidence in him or wouldn't have traded Hyde. It'll be interesting either way.

Out of curiosity, let's say Chubb busts out for 100yd plus game. What's his value then? Who would you target?

Not so cut and dried to me. I would actually start Ashlon over Chubb this week, until we see for sure how things are gonna shake out.

I'd target an established RB and the right situation.  In my league, there is a team with a huge hole at 1 RB slot and 1 WR slot, but they do have Melvin Gordon.  I have a surplus of quality WRs and Chubb was just sitting on my bench.  If Chubb has a breakout game, I'd try to package Nick Chubb + Robert Woods + Kerryon Johnson for Melvin Gordon.  There's another team in my league with Joe Mixon as an RB3 so maybe I'd try trading Chubb straight up for Mixon.  Chubb cost me nothing so getting something for nothing is really nice to me imo.

That first trade offer makes sense. The second one not at all. Why would someone trade Mixon who is an established stud at this point and clearly the guy in Cinci on an explosive offense for an unknown in Chubb in kind of a crap offense? I certainly wouldnt unless you sweetened the pot significantly...

So what is Chubb's value?  The sample set is SMALL but it's really hard to overlook 3 carries for 100+ yrds w/ 2 TD's.

He's available in my work league, but we have short benches of 9 starters/5 bench.  My only real options to drop would be one of Doug Baldwin, Russel Wilson, John Brown, Greg Olsen or James Conner.

My logical thought is Olsen (I have Kittle and hate rostering 2 TE) but that is potentially giving up a top 5 TE.  2nd option I guess is John Brown, but that's a solid WR2.  Conner's value is sky high until Bell comes back, then very iffy.  Wilson is an option simply because I have Winston, who could potentially be an every-week starter and his bye has already passed.  I don't want to miss out on a potential top 10-15 RB, but man are these skinny benches killing me.

If i was in your situation, I would jettison kittle in a heartbeat for Chubb. Don't get me wrong...I like Kittle a lot, and own him in 2 leagues, but he as a bye coming up whereas Olsen doesn't.

Or, you could drop Olsen and keep Kittle until his week 11 bye, then drop him for a waiver TE. With short benches like that, there is bound to be a decent TE available at all times.

I just believe that a potential top-shelf RB is a priority over any TE not named Gronk, Kelce, or Ertz.

I would drop Olsen in a hot minute for Chubb or anyone of value really. The odds seem much better to me that Chubb is a top 10 Back, then Olsen, who has missed a ton of games the last two years is a top 5 TE.

yeah, i'd love to trade olsen and something else to upgrade a WR spot in a 2 for 1. Hope was Olsen and John Brown for TY Hilton but the plan was to wait until this week and hope that TY was back enough to be deemed healthy but had an off week because of rust.  The Chubb thing has thrown a wrench in that plan.

I think Duke Johnson will see a increase to 10-12 plays, he will be used similar to last year when he posted big fantasy numbers netting  nearly 700 rec yards along with 7-rushing & receiving TD's...Chubb is far from a solid receiver and with a rookie QB dependent  still on several screenplays, he will not be a every down back, although Chubb is still a hot pickup but do not overlook Johnson if he is on waivers, still a decent bye week fill-in.

Tampa has allowed the 2nd fewest yards rushing to RBs yet they are 8th in FFPA to RBs. The reason is that they've given up 8 total TDs and the 8th most receiving yards. Kamara & Cohen absolutely ripped them through the air and Clement had a good game receiving too.

This is AWESOME STUFF....thanks mate.

This In my opinion makes Duke even more valuable than Chubb today. But do I have the gonads to play Duke over James White v. Bears or Matt Breida v. Rams. Hmmmmm

Duke is the Browns RB today though I predict...not Chubb.

More evidence for me to play Duke today instead of Chubb.....but I’m not saying playing Chubb is a bad thing. I just think Duke May have a higher ceiling that’s all.

If ... Tampa's passing attack from last week repeats and Browns chase points you will see a heavy dose of Duke Johnson, a better blocker and receiver than Chubb, ....I would play Johnson over Chubb if I owned both assuming Winston will repeat the air assault...

It could repeat, but I wouldn't exactly count on it. Atlanta has half a defense left, and even if it does, most teams can match Tampa score for score, as atlanta did last week.
