High Crimes- Michael Kodas. It's ten years old now, but it's about what really goes on at MT. Everest and other climbing destinations. Interesting scary stuff. Those Sherpas are some cold hearted fockers.

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

High Fidelity Nick Hornby (movie was terrible)

Child 44, The Secret Speech, Agent 6 (Trilogy) Tom Rob Smith

High fidelity is one of my favorite movies. Ill have to check out the book.

Shantaram and The Moutnain Shadow, both by Gregory David Roberts I think, are my two favorites of late.

Looking for a good audio book. I am not finding CDs for some of the suggestions. I would love to find Labyrinths on CD for my long ass drive to PA to cheat on my wife.

Fixed

Hey nice recommend. Was definitely an interesting contrast to Into Thin Air by Krakauer.

Both deal with a lot of death but I felt like John really romanticized the whole process where this guy tells it a little more ugly. A really good book. Thanks man.

For those of you with nine-year-old girls (or Sux) in your life, I strongly recommend Dear Dumb Diary. It's a series. It's actually pretty funny even for adults.

Did you know that the woman who wrote Goodnight Moon went to the doctor and to prove that she was healthy she kicked her leg up in the air? The problem is, she dislodged a blood clot in doing so which traveled right to her heart and she died right in the doctor's office. True story.

Goodnight Moon.

I'm currently reading the Atlantis Plague (book 2) - Not sure if I'll read book 3 I'm not really enjoying it.

Calculating God - I really liked this one. it's about an alien who believes in God coming to earth and talking to an atheist scientist

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August - WOW I love the premise of this book and how it's told.

One Second After - Fictional story about how life will be after an EMP attack. I do a bit of prepping and this was a great book if you're into that stuff

Sword of truth series - Long and starting to drag in the middle books. I'm on book 6 and had to take a break.

The Rise and Fall of D.O. D.O - Time travel witches and the US government.Very fun ready.

Redshirts - Loved the first 2/3 of the book and then it got stupid

A Gentleman in Moscow - Really good but one of those smart books with lots of double meaning

We are Legion We are Bob (Series) - Loved it.

The name of the wind - meh another kid goes off to school story.

Morningwood: Everybody Loves Large Chests - IF you played MMORPGs back in the day this is actually a quick fun read.I see a lot of these kinds of books out these days.

Other books I've read since my last update:

Ramsey's Gold

NPC

1984

Ready Player One

14

Lincoln in the BArdo

Red, Green, Blue Mars Series

How to be Miserable

The Fold

Dark Matter

If youre a parent and looking for a funny read on that topic, I would recommend two books by Karen Alpert:

I Heart my little A-holes

I Want my Epidural Back

Both are hilarious and had me laughing it loud.

Heres some man books if you guys are interested.

Papillon by henri David cherie - true story of a guy who escaped from devils island.

The Flashman series - a series of books about a Victorian dandy who gets into misadventures all over the world. He is a coward and a total ass hound, but always ends up covered in glory by the end.

My friend the mercenary James brazabon - I am halfway through this one now. Its a journalist who is going to Africa to film war violence. He hired a South African mercenary to escort him in and out. Pretty intense look at the violence that has engulfed Africa.
