AZ Brings Back 160 Year Old Abortion Ban

I'm glad they did that. But I'm disappointed that it was only a couple of Republicans that caused that and the others are out there saying it shouldn't have passed. As you've noted in the past, it's not a good look. Even if one is pro life, they should be able to acknowledge that there's got to be a middle ground, a compromise, on this issue. It's not going to be banned so find a reasonable middle ground that most Americans are good with and pass that. I just don't understand wtf these people are doing. You got Roe overturned. Now do the right thing.

    Coronavirus - Doomsday

You got the full interviews for each of those statements? I can buy in February him saying "It's going to go away" and meaning it's just going to fade away. By September I doubt he's saying that. I suspect he's saying after the vaccine is ready, because it was getting close at that point and he knew a hell of a lot more about that than we did, it will go away. So you're posting snippets without context, which is your go to move, but it's not compelling. At least not to me. But you keep trying to have your "gotcha" moment with me. You're going to have do a hell of a lot better than edited snippets. Oh, and in case you haven't noticed, it has gone away. It has zero impact on society any more. So he wasn't wrong, was he?

    Coronavirus - Doomsday

No. I just haven't been in this thread. But I just looked at your video. Holy fock. Those were all statements from Between 2/20 and 4/20. So he said something in the first few months of the Pandemic when we were still gathering information and you think that's the equivalent of Biden saying if you get the vaccine you won't get Covid when he knew for a fact that wasn't the case? You think those two are comparable statements? WTF is wrong with you?
  6. Nope. As I always say, I look for data. Looked up one of the first "studies" cited in your link and here is their data: So, a bunch of random surveys. We need better data than that. Oh, and I looked up the authors of that study. They're from something called "The Trevor Project" which is an organization dedicated to suicide prevention for alphabet people. A worthy cause but not exactly unbiased. Not to mention that the first thing your link says is: I reject that assertion. Just because a country is doing the right thing and formulating policy based on data, and trying to collect valid data for future policy decisions, doesn't make them hostile. There is a marked difference between the tone of the Cass study and the OPINION article you linked. That should be your first clue that your link isn't credible. Of course, you go an obviously biased site to get your rebuttal. I suggest you read the Cass study. Unlike your link, it's written like an adult, using data and clearly supporting it's conclusions. It's sad that you refuse to educate yourself. Also worth noting - As a result of the Cass report, 16 senior psychologists, some of whom worked in the GIDS clinics, wrote a public letter of apology for their profession and it's contributions to this issue. https://www.theguardian.com/theobserver/commentisfree/2024/apr/21/we-are-ashamed-of-role-psychology-played-gender-care-observer-letters Oh, and I don't believe you read the Cass report. For one thing, it's 140 someodd pages and I know you don't have the attention span to get past 5, and that's assuming lots of pictures. Not to mention that the Cass study leaves open the possibility for hormone treatments and puberty blockers, when the right safeguards have been met and the proper protocols have been followed to ensure it's a proper course of treatment. That's what's missing in other places, especially the U.S. Keep up with this stance. I want it clearly documented for the day when the U.S. catches up with the rest of the world and stops trying to mutilate kids. I don't want you to be able to pretend you weren't at the front of the line leading that witch hunt.
  7. What? This is the dumbest response ever. Did you read the report?
  8. Why don't you practice what you preach? I posted about the Cass report when it was announced but you didn't respond. For people interested, and that means you Jerry, please read the following. If really interested download the full report: https://cass.independent-review.uk/home/publications/final-report/
  9. This comes up every couple of years it seems. Sports teams represent the city or region from which they hail. In many cases the locals helped pay for the stadiums the teams play at. The teams have massive local outreach and charity programs. IOW, the community is (literally) invested and takes pride in the team and as such refers to that team as their team. Can we lock this thread now?

  12. Rachel Dolezal thinks she's black. How is that any different? She just doesn't have a fancy name like "Racial Dysphoria" to describe her condition. Other than that her circumstances are exactly the same as someone who believes they were born the wrong physical sex.
  13. What about the N word? Is a physical altercation justified when someone calls an AA the N word?
  14. So you think calling a biological male "he" is the same as calling an AA the N word? To the point of justifying a physical altercation?
