Draft Strategy and Trade Possibility

Recommended Posts

Drafting second in a ppr league snake drafting 12 man league, most likely would take LT. However, have been offered to switch picks in 1 and 2 with the 10th drafter ( 2 and 23 for 10 and 15.) He has also agreed to swap in the 4th and 5th rd and throw in his 8th round selection as well.

Would you do this?

i am pretty much trading down to have a chance at a top tier wr but giving up a sure thing at rb. I would still have the early 3rd rd selection to take another rb if so chosen. also, moving up in the 4th would give chance to get good 3rd tier wr, i.e. driver, ajohnson, roy williams etc.

the league is:

rb rb

wr wr

flex (wr, te or rb)

def

qb

k

(tight ends count as wr)

1pt per 10 yds rec/run

6pt per all TD

1 pt. per rec

also, if you would not do the trade what would your draft strategy be? rb rb rb or rb wr rb?

any thoughts, opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Because he's swapping the 4, 5 and 8 round selections as well, I'd probably consider doing this. He's going to have to wait a mighty long time to make his second round pick, and by then all of the good RB's will be gone as well as Manning and the top 5 WR's. I think he's screwing himself to be honest, but maybe he's got some grand plan he thinks will work.

With your league rules you should not make this trade. The reason I say this is because you only start 2 WRs and TEs count as WRs. This makes WRs worth very little and top RBs much more valuable.

There are a couple of ways this can work for you though:

1. If you have a player that you really like that you know will fall to 10, say Tiki Barber. If you know that he would fall to 10 then I would consider it. Otherwise you could end up with your choice of top RB or Manning, which isn't terrible, but you would be screwed at RB if you took Manning, but would have the best QB.

2. The fact that you are moving up in the 4th round means you could grab a flex player which should be of better value than the guy you would grab later, but you fall into the same problem in the 5th. OK, you're getting an 8th round pick. What is that really worth?? Maybe a handcuff of your top RB or something like that.

All in all I would not do this deal. Go RB RB RB from the 2 spot. This should give you your backs and your flex player. Then go WR WR QB, depending on value at that point.

Good Luck!!
