WR Usage Rates After 4 Weeks

Recommended Posts

Last week, Doug looked at the RBs. This week the WRs and TEs get the same treatment... total snaps, snap percentage & target percentage.

Hey Mike, I have a question - there are two names that stick out like sore thumbs in the middle of a listing of top tier names - Jaron Brown and Tyrell Williams.

What do you think of these two from the perspective of whether they can be consistent and reliable, are these good pickups or trade targets?

My perception is that Brown is going to be faced with Nelson and John Brown taking targets or time eventually, and Ty Williams has just got too much competition for targets on the Bolts.

Thoughts?

I'm not Mike but they are both going to face serious threats to playing time. Brown has 3 wideouts in front of him in Nelson ,Fitz and brown. When they get healthy he falls back into the shadows.

With Williams you have the same thing in that Mike Williams will be coming back. Then Allen and finally Benjamin. Once m.Williams comes back t.williams will be splitting deep ball routes with Benjamin.

They both are worth a speculative bid but are going to take new injuries or current ones to linger in order to be relevant.

Fitz is the only receiver clearly ahead of Jarron Brown. John Brown has been all hype thus far. He's always hurt and battling his sickle cell. Nelson is nothing special. Jaron may loose some targets when all are healthy, but he won't fall out of the picture.

Do you own Jaron Brown? Because that sounds like wishful thinking. John has averaged 53 receptions a year for 3 years. When he is on the field he IS the number 2 behind Fitz. and Nelson has seen his usage go up each of his first 2 years and is on pace for another career year for him. Jaron brown will be a number 4 when brown and nelson come back.

I don't. I just live in AZ,and listen to the local sports talk radio every day. No one here believes Nelson is anything but another guy. Arians said in preseason he had two NFL caliber receivers, one was Fitz the other was Jaron. When John Brown is healthy, sure he's the second most talented receiver, but his injuries and attitude have him in the dog house. Maybe all the information I've heard on the local talk radio station for the past 2 months is wrong, but it doesn't seem to be so far.
