Annual how many NFL teams would Alabama beat thread

Recommended Posts

Answer is still zero. They'd get killed.

Satan gets another one.

Please don't call it an SEC thing. It's Alabama, and everyone else. The entire SEC did not just win the NC.

Henry is a great college RB, but I'm not falling for him in fantasy once he hits the League.

We both know you will change your mind about Henry if he ends up with Dallas and runs behind that offensive line.

If the NCAA and NFL had the imagination and guts to try a relegation scheme, we could find out. Top 3 college teams play in the NFL, bottom three NFL teams relegated to NCAA play. Obviously this would entail converting the NCAA into a pro organization. No small task, but many are calling for college athletes to be paid anyway...

Do you like Elliot better? RB Draft class doesn't seem that strong this year.

Elliot is the much better prospect.

Please, don't be ridiculous. There's nothing to find out, it would be a slaughter.

Elliots OK. But my man love has Alex Collins in its sights this year.

Henry is fast but doesn't look quick at all. And he doesn't get to his top speed right out of the gates. NFL Lb's are all bigger than him and just as fast. I think he's going to be T-Rich version 2.0

Favorite meme I saw to the SEC cheering honks.

"Cheering for Alabama because they are in the SEC is like cheering for the Devil because he is in the Bible"

A lot of NFL talent on the field for both teams last night.

Especially on D. Those defensive fronts were fun to watch.

Which is funny given how many points were scored.

Clemson should smack their secondary coach around a bit for letting that dude go wide open so often.

Not only that - there's a damn good chance the Bama Qb is carted off the field - in a body bag.

True...that right tackle was getting abused last night.

Seems like everyone is in agreement as am I that a college team would get destroyed by an NFL team.

To put it into perspective based on the 2 teams w/ worst records in NFL (just rhetorical questions):

Does anyone think Alabama could beat Tampa Bay, New Orleans, and Jax? Tennessee did.

Does anyone think Alabama could be within 17pts of Carolina? Tennessee was 27-10.

" " be within 17pts of New England? Tennessee was 33-16.

" " beat Tennessee, San Fran, and Baltimore? Cleveland did.

" " be within 14pts of Arizona? Cleveland was 34-20

" " take Denver to OT and lose by 3? Cleveland did 26-23.

" " be within 4 pts of Kansas City? Cleveland did 17-13.

Other games of note. Lost by 17 to Seattle and 16 to Pittsburgh.

I would put the spread in the 20 to mid 30 point range with the clock being the limiting factor. JMO.

No college offensive line could stop Watt. He alone would probab have 4 defensive touchdowns. Coker would be broken in half

Hoyer would throw at least two pick 6 so that's 14 points for Bama I think they could do it .

No college team would beat any NFL. That's like saying a highschool team can beat a college team. NFL pulls the greatest talents and those athletes do nothing but train. They aren't bound by NCAA rules of certain amounts of practice a week. Their job is to train, practice, and play. NCAA teams wouldnt even beat the practice squads

None. The third stringers of the worst team in any given year would destroy Alabama. I mean come on like what 5% of the college players get drafted year-to-year? Thats not even the guys that make the team.

Me and my buddy were having this discussion a few weeks ago (he's your stereotypical Miami Hurricanes fan focking moron) he kept telling me that the 2001 Canes would have a chance against the bad NFL teams, idiot I couldn't even talk to him anymore.

This is also the same guy I showed fantasy football to a few years got him a standard ESPN standard league with me for a friendly competition... drafted Mark Sanchez with the first pick (because he saw him on hard knocks whatever year that was). He ended up doing better than me which is the kicker so he thought I was wrong and didn't know a damn thing when I actually knew it was just dumb luck on his end.

But yeah.. back to the point.. only idiots think the national champion in college could beat and NFL team.

This is true. People seem to forget the NFL takes the BEST players. Not you're average players that teams like Alabama has. Not saying they are all averages but they aren't all NFL quality. The practice teams of the NFL would beat every college team. Hell, no college team would have a chance when every lineman looks like their teams best lineman.

Any given Sunday. However, more often than not the college team will get stomped

But if the Browns were relegated to playing a year in the NCAA, I guarantee you that throughout their undefeated season, they'd be behind 2 or 3 different SEC teams in the polls on given weeks.

The answer is zero.

Does Henry remind anyone else of Eddie Lacy? Good runner in college, but you just see him as a guy who will balloon up like a tick once he gets to the pros. :dunno:

There's always a chance of a team losing. That's a fact. However the odds of any NFL practice squad losing much less the starters for the team is about the same odds as winning the lottery. It just won't happen. People get lost in the plays the college athletes make against other college athletes that they tend to forget these players are like little boys compared to NFL talent

No. It's not a fact. It cannot happen. It would never happen. Not ever.

Ohio State had 14 players drafted in 2004. That is the most by one school. So that means there would be 8 starting players during the game that would either:

a) Not be good enough to be a pro player

b ) Not be old enough to be a pro player

Let's look at the players that were drafted from that class.

Will Smith, Chris Gamble, Michael Jenkins, Ben Hartsock, Tim Anderson, B.J. Sander, Darrion Scott, Alex Stepanovich, Will Allen, Craig Krenzel, Drew Carter, Rob Reynolds, Shane Olivea, and Adrien Clarke.

Those were players good enough to be drafted, and how many actually were good enough to survive in the NFL more than a couple seasons?

Look at the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Lawrence Phillips averaged 3.4 yards a carry in his NFL career. Tommie Frazier was considered (and in some circles STILL IS) one of the best college PLAYERS of all time. He led the Huskers to two consecutive national championships. Yeah he had health issues, but he never even got signed by an NFL team.

The 2001 Miami Hurricanes were solid. They had a ton of talent no doubt as showcased by how many players got drafted. But they rolled out Ken Dorsey. The same Ken Dorsey that was drafted in the 7th round and had a career NFL quarterback rating of 55.2 in his 13 games started. In fact, in all his games, he had a quarterback rating over 100 just one time in the NFL.

If you think what happened to Brian Hoyer was bad...imagine what would happen to a 20 year old quarterback who has no clue about NFL coverage/blitz schemes.
