Chronic Husker 85 Posted January 21, 2016 Broncos almost have to resign him. $10 million a year? He can't be franchised. Who would go after him besides Cleveland? Although there aren't many NFL qbs out there, most teams have a plan.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted January 21, 2016 The Broncos are interesting because they can't realistically stick with Manning, but Osweiler is a FA. They are in good shape from what I can tell with the cap, so they can afford to pay Osweiler $10-12m. Not sure he is worth it, though.
R8RMick 242 Posted January 21, 2016 I would move on from that guy. If he hasn't gotten it by now he never will.
weepaws 2,457 Posted January 21, 2016 Based on the fact Bradford wants 25 million a season 10 million would be a great deal for the Broncos .
Chronic Husker 85 Posted January 21, 2016 I would move on from that guy. If he hasn't gotten it by now he never will. He has a better winning % than any Raider qb since Gannon. Sees bait. Swims on.
petekrum 20 Posted January 21, 2016 You would have to be insane not yo sign Osweiler at that number. You have a top defense and great skill players around him. You don't need him to go out and carry the team right away, just continue to grow and learn the offense and not lose games.
IGotWorms 3,310 Posted January 21, 2016 I would move on from that guy. If he hasn't gotten it by now he never will. I don't think he has it. I can't say that definitively but to me he ends up being a mediocre starter at best. Let him go

Let him go I don't think that you can go by this season. He is getting his feet wet, essentially. They asked him to not lose games and he did a pretty good job of it. How many guys come in during their first season or two of being the starter and just light it up? How many of the guys that we see making more than $12m a year at QB stink now or stunk in their first year? Let me put this in perspective. There are currently 22 QB's who are making more than $12m average per season (and Luck and Brady are not on that list). http://overthecap.com/position/quarterback/
giraldi02 470 Posted January 21, 2016 Y'all slay me. $10 Million a year for Osweiler? Matt Flynn got $26 million with $10 mill guaranteed for three years when he signed with Seattle. That was four years ago...and a whole lot less of a salary cap than now. Dude is getting paid. Whether he deserves it or not is an entirely different animal. Aaron Rudnicki 9 Posted January 21, 2016 It was Oz first year getting real playing time, good god people, a little perception and rational if we could.

I'm assuming he will cost more than that but I haven't paid attention to that. You have a good point but I dunno, he just didn't look special at all to me. Even guys that don't really light it up their first year starting, you can still usually see that they might end up being special.
giraldi02 470 Posted January 21, 2016 Brian Hoyer has a two year $10.5 million deal. If I'm the Texans, there's no way I wouldn't pay a guy like Osweiler double that
frank 2,144 Posted January 22, 2016 I bet they could get Tebow back for the price of a uniform.
Aaron Rudnicki 9 Posted January 22, 2016 I bet they could get Tebow back for the price of a uniform. There isnt much out there, you have RG3, Fitz, Hoyer and maybe Johnny Football. I'd keep Oz who has some upside, he had some good games a 9-4 TD/INT ratio, there is stuff to build on. Good offense, good WR, good RBs and a good defense. He threw for over 250 in 5 of his 7 games and over 296 in 3 of them. He even added a rushing score with no fumbles. Buy on him and buy on Thomas and Sanders, Vernon Davis too if you're nasty.

Texans already had their chance to become a contender and threw it away by drafting Clowney over Bortles or Carr.

Thank you for some common sense. I love guys who say get rid of this young QB but offer no plan to replace him. Like you can just drive down to QB Depot and grab a pro bowl QB anytime you want. Like you can just drive down to QB Depot and grab a pro bowl QB anytime you want. I saw a lot of things I like about Oz. He has some poise but that will get even better with time, a big arm that needs some fine tuning with accuracy. A full offseason as the starter will only help him, personally I see only downside with going with anyone else in the market over Oz.
