RollingThunder 0 Posted August 8, 2006 Ok, Im in a dynasty style league where our points are based on tds and yardage production with heavy bonuses for 100yard marks in recieving and rushing(250 for passing) and bonuses every 50 after that. There are 10 owners and each team carries a roster of 30 and protects 20. My team is currently a contender however the last two years have underachieved and fallen short of top of the heap (highest scoring is the bragging rights I seek) My team(players of note) qb P Manning, Mcnabb, Delhomme, Harrington,Ramsey rb Alexander, Foster, K Jones, T Jones, Duckett, C Perry, B Jacobs wr Fitzgerald, C Johnson, D Jackson, Stallworth, Lelie, C Rogers te Lj Smith, K Winslow Im thinking I need a more solid #2 rb ideally a top tier back to get over the hump, So im debating pursuing such a back like for example Larry Johnson. Before I make an idiot of myself (or rather continue my descent down that well beaten path) I would like some imput on impressions on my team and direction it should go(preferably where sun does shine) and input on and approval/disapproval of following offer im considering(i.e. is it acceptable?too low?too high?) L Johnson for my #1 2007, my #2 2006, D Jackson, T Jones (side note he has been looking for a wr) Thanks for your time
gator-raiders 0 Posted August 8, 2006 I am in a full keeper / dynasty league as well so I will try to help. Looking at your trade offer, your 2007 #1 - I assume that is your first round draft pick in 2007. Are those draft picks only for rookies? If that is the case, then in a 10 team league your first round pick will be in the bottom half of the first round assuming like you said your team is a contender. The RB class in 2007 is top loaded (Peterson, Bush and Irons and maybe the guy from Cal) so chances are you would not even get a rookie RB in 2007. Your 2006 #2 which is a second round is also at the back on the second round which means you wont even get a shot at Vernon Davis. In a 10 team league, all the rookie RB will go 1-6 (Bush, Williams, Maroney, Addai, White, Mike Bell, J. Norwood) and then you have Davis and the QBs. You certainly do not need a QB and you don't have a shot at Davis. None of the WRs in this year's class are worth it. So I would make the trade. You already have great WRs so you can afford to ship off Jackson. And T. Jones's value is going to be much less as the dreaded RB by committee with Benson starts this season. Please take the time to post your opinion on my full keeper / dynasty draft question topic. Thanks.
RollingThunder 0 Posted August 9, 2006 Our draft is made up of free agents as well as the rookie class,I certainly think the deal would be the right move to make....my concern though is am I even in range value wise for the other owner to even considermaking that move. Great White Hope 0 Posted August 9, 2006 Of course you should do that trade. The problem is that the LJ owner will want more than that, but you have to start somewhere. I would throw in McNabb and Kevin Jones to sweeten it a little bit.
lguero1 4 Posted August 9, 2006 keep peyton, SA, fitz, chad. trade everyone else for lj with all of your picks. those players are your core. build around them.
