Salaries/Contracts

Franchise cost for 2008 will be....QB $42, RB $85, WR $83, K $8, D $13. Players drafted during the draft will be considered in the first year of their contract. Salaries and contracts remain the same for the entire season. If ANY player is picked up during the season (free agent), his salary will be whatever is bid for him and he will be considered in the first year of his contract. The only exception to this is if YOU dropped that player. If you dropped the player you can only pick him up at the same salary and contract for the next two weeks of games. After two weeks of games the player may be bid on by anyone. After the 2nd year you keep a player, their salary will go up $5, & at the end of the 3rd year you must sign them to a contract. You add $5 per year that you are extending their contract. Players that officially retire or otherwise are obviously permanently removed from any NFL roster for one full season may be dropped from the owner's roster even if you have them signed to a long-term contract. Players in the 4th year of their contract must be released into free agency (Each team has one Franchise tag they can place on a fourth year player the players salary will be determined by the average of the five highest played players at that position from when the season began.

Free Agents/Trades

Each free agent add/drop will cost $1. To pick up a free agent you must blind-bid for him before 9pm eastern time on wednesday each week. In the event of a tie, the team with the worst record will receive the player. These determinations will be made Wednesday at 9pm. Player pick-ups between Wednesday at 9pm and the first kick-off of the week will be first come first serve. When a player is dropped from a roster he may not be picked up by another team until the following week. 6. No transactions may be done after week 14 of the NFL has started. Trades can be done at anytime prior to the first game of week 14 and after the Fantasy Bowl. Trades will cost $1 per player traded. Both team owners must notify the commissioner prior to a trade becoming effective in the off-season. In no case can an owner exceed his salary cap of $300. From our fantasy draft until after the 1st week of football only players drafted for $1 may be dropped & picked back up by another team.

Playoffs

The four division winners & two wildcard teams from each conference will make the playoffs. The bottom eight teams will play for the toilet bowl. The winner & loser of the toilet bowl will receive the top two rookie picks the following year. The other 6 toilet bowl teams will draft in reverse order of their regular season finish. The top four teams in the fantasy bowl will receive the last four picks and the remaining 4 teams will draft in reverse order of their regular season finish.

Tiebreaker

The following criteria will be used to determine position in standings where teams have identical won/loss records:

Team with the most points during the regular season.

Team winning the head to head competition.

Team with the best division record.

If still tied, a coin flip will decide. (If any prize money is involved, it will be split by all teams involved)

Tiebreakers for play off games will be determined as follows: A. The highest seeded team will be declared the winner

Rule Changes

Rule changes will be made by majority vote. If a rule is changed in the offseason, then we will wait until the following season before making the change.
