How many game suspension does Zeke get?

Recommended Posts

Video from St Patrick's Day shows Zeke pulling down a woman's shirt and exposing her breast. The woman quickly slaps away Zeke's hand.

The NFL had been trying to pop him. Even without charges a clear case can be made for sexual assualt.

I'm saying minimum of 2 games but likely 4.

He was not charged. If he gets even a single game that is BS. The NFL is not a moral judge of character nor should it be. If I were him I would say its not me and you are all racist focks for saying I look like any other black man.

If she doesn't file any charges I don't see how Goodell has any case against Zeke. He does seem brazen enough to believe he can get away with whatever he wants. So a suspension in the future is a definite possibility.

Can you imagine the squirming Goodell would do if Zeke ever said what "you think all black people look alike"

That would be awesome.

There's definitely precedent here with Roethlisberger's suspension, in which he was suspended even though he was never arrested or charged. I wouldn't put it past Goodell to think he could suspend Elliott just the same for his case.

Roethlisberger never challenged his case though in court (probably didn't want details coming out??) so perhaps Zeke would be more inclined, especially considering most of the details of this plus his previous violent incident are already public. He doesn't have much to lose by challenging, and Goodell has lost some court cases when he overstepped his reach.

Will be interesting to see.

Will of this happen last March before he was in the NFL can they still suspend him?

I think this is more of a legal issue that took place before he was drafted.

And if not does this also mean that the NFL can also suspend J Mixon for is role in knocking out a woman? That also took place before he was drafted in the NFL.

I mean does the NFL have that much power in the legal system to do that?

Tyreek Hill should've been suspended before the start of last year then.

yeah the only thing you could do is pursue this under Goodell's discretion, when he probably wouldn't pursue if it was anyone with a clean record. so essentially a de facto way of punishing him, so you can at least say you did something.

maybe they can only get him for 2 games though as this incident on it's own is pretty benign.

How long until the girl tries to go for Zekes money? With the video it doesn't matter how long she waits she can always go after him

Article 46, "Integrity of the Game" aka Goodell's discretion is very broad and gives him complete and independent authority to judge and punish any member of the players' union as he sees fit.

Meaning, legally and according to the CBA as defined by the US Supreme Court, Goodell can do whatever he wants to Zeke... 1 game, 6 games, 1 season, or no punishment at all and it is all fair and legal.

Even if it took place before they where apart of the Union?

He should enjoy that power. It will not be there after the next CBA.

it's going to be a big deal during the next CBA... probably the players #1 thing they want changed and it's gonna' cost them b/c the NFL isn't giving it up easily... they have complete authority/discretion/power over their union workforce... I really believe it will be big enough to shut down the NFL.

And for Goodel's sake, he's better off if the absolutely-fockin-hammers Zeke... from a PR standpoint (violence vs. women) and from a "zero tolerance" standpoint.

Zeke is a freaking idiot but I don't know that he has done anything that warrants a suspension.

If the domestic violence case turns out to be true, ok, do what the policy states. Suspend him for however long.

As we know it now it doesn't look like there is much weight to the story.

Stuff like this drunken incident and going to the weed shop put out a terrible PR image but unless this young lady says she has a problem with this latest incident, there is technically nothing he really did that warrants any discipline IMO.

The NFL itself had a very similar half time show if I do remember correctly.

Integrity of the Shield

Maybe the NFL does nothing... but either way, it's completely up to Goodel to decide.

The reason I think Goodell is between a rock and a hard place to suspend him because of that is if he does there could possibly be a backlash of people saying he suspended him because of that and not the policy on domestic violence.

This would technically fall under that I believe. Then pertaining to the policy would be a 6 game suspension instead of a 1 or 2 game suspension under the integrity of the shield rule.

With Goodell though, who the hell knows.

Zeke has put himself in a real pickle here.

Please. No suspension. Lift her shirt, grab her by the pu$$y, whatever. He's a celebrity and can get away with it.

you're wrong there. he's regularly had instances overturned in court when they determined he overstepped.

Bountygate: all Saints suspensions were overturned

Dashon Goldson, 2013, one game suspension for helmet to helmet hit reduced to $100k fine

Brandon Meriwether, 2013 two game suspension for helmet to helmet hit reduced to 1 game

Ray Rice's indefinite suspension was overturned and he was reinstated

Adrian Peterson's indefinite suspension was overturned and he was reinstated

Ndamukong Suh, 2014 was supposed to be suspended for playoff game, but was appealed down to $70k fine.

your move.

the guy I was originally responded through wrote this in response to my original statement...

the fact that he took the time to try and throw out articles, name drop the Supreme Court, and then say that he thought Goodell can do whatever he wants to Zeke while not taking the time to research that Goodell's discretionary disciplinary actions have many times been overturned/reduced, bugged me. I don't lose academic arguments, so when he tried to come at me like that, it's my nature to push back just as hard. Especially when I know I'm right.

I didn't realize that you were a different person chiming in, so again I pushed back. I apologize for not catching that you weren't the original responder though.

Not sure about this... found this gem after a little research:

From the "Official NFL Guide on Player Conduct, Chapter II, Section 3, Paragraph 18, Line 2"...

"Players shall not be penalized for exposing a woman's breast(s) when said woman is effectively begging for it. This applies, but is not limited, to Spring Break, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day and All Hallows Eve celebrations"
