Ted Wells Presents DeflateGate Report To NFL, Patriots; No Discipline Decided Yet

Recommended Posts

so it's your contention that the ball boys snuck into that room and let air out of those balls just for sh1ts and giggles? And that Brady knew nothing? Lololol

Of course he knew, but why would he go run to tattle on them? He just does his job and does what coach tells him. Maybe he said, "hey go let some air out if you can, it helps me get a better grip." wich apparently everyone does and its no big deal. No one even new it was illegal or cared until the scandal broke.

You know who I feel bad for in all this...the hoodie. Poor man was straight up lied to by Brady. Poor Bill Belichick, he really is the sympathetic figure in all of this. :(

Who hacked drobe's account! REPORTED!!! :shocking:

Also, FYI, the report clearly shows that Brady was well aware of the pressure and had requested they be at 12.5

So many black players have been suspended, Goodell will certainly suspend Brady. Which I honestly think is deserved. Integrity of the game words.

Not so sure about fines and/or picks. Brady working with equipment guys on the sly is not a huge lack of institutional control.

They should do the same thing the NCAA does with the Heisman and National Champions.

No need to suspend Brady. His legacy forever marred by cheating is enough. It's like taking Bonds' records out of the books. Why bother? We all know he's a fraud.

Yep.

Ray Rice incident had nothing to do with the integrity of the game.

Hardy? nothing to do with the integrity of the game.

Peterson? Nothing to do with the integrity of the game.

Seems to me the league would come down harder on infractions that deal with the integrity of the game than off the field issues.

I guess we will see.

Sorry, I should have been more precise, the guys who gave the balls to the refs for testing said Brady liked the balls at 12.5. Not like they could say he liked them at 10.5, could they.

My question regarding the charts is who tested the balls first in each case. In my experience using a pressure gauge lets out a slight amount of air each time you use it. Not a big deal when I'm filling the tires on my car, but on a football, that could explain the differences between the two refs.

Good point

Better explanation from the report, there were 2 gauges used and one consistently registered higher. Could explain why Colts balls were legal/illegal.

We have not been able to determine with certainty based on the witness interviews which game official used the

Logo Gauge and which used the Non-Logo Gauge. For the reasons stated in Section VII.B and described in

detail in Appendix 1, based on Exponent‟s conclusion that the Logo Gauge generally reports a measurement

that is approximately 0.3-0.45 psi higher than the measurement reported by the Non-Logo Gauge, we believe

that Blakeman used the Non-Logo Gauge and Prioleau used the Logo Gauge to test the Patriots game balls at

halftime. As noted

For the reasons stated in Section VII.B and described in detail in Appendix 1, based on Exponent‟s conclusion

that the Logo Gauge generally reports a measurement that is approximately 0.3-0.45 psi higher than the

measurement reported by the Non-Logo Gauge and never produced a reading lower than the Non-Logo Gauge

during Exponent‟s testing, it appears most likely that the two officials switched gauges in between measuring

each team‟s footballs, meaning that Blakeman most likely used the Logo Gauge and Prioleau most likely used

the Non-Logo Gauge to test the Colts balls at halftime. Further, Exponent believes that the results recorded for

the third Colts ball tested reflect an anomaly in that, unlike the other Colts balls tested, the reading made by

Prioleau is higher than the reading made by Blakeman. Exponent believes that this anomaly may be the result

of a transcription error where the measurements recorded were attributed to the opposite game official (i.e., on

game day, Blakeman measured 12.95 psi and Prioleau measured 12.50 psi) or a recording error where the

pressure measured by one of the officials was incorrectly recorded. Exponent controlled for this anomaly in its

analysis of the data

While the text messages clearly show that Brady was communicating with these guys, there is nothing that indicates he pointedly told them to change the balls to be illegal. It is entirely possible that the two were doing their typical work and focked it up, deflating too much. The aspect of this that stands out to me is that when confronted he avoided entirely, indicating that he either had no idea that people were manipulating the balls (already disproven by text messages) or he was aware and was actively lying to avoid any indication of culpability.

Meh...I think what will get him is lying to the NFL and withholding information.

This seems to be the most likely outcome. He clearly had the guys manipulating the balls for him, and clearly the people doing his bidding knew it was illegal and waited to make the changes until after the refs checked them. There is little doubt that Tom likely knew this, along with the two minions, and likely Bellicheat was at least in a small advisory role on how to pull it off.

Cheating is something the Patriots do exceptionally well, too well perhaps, and they get sloppy

They may position it that way, but to me it is a distinction without a difference.

Also, it makes you wonder what else they are doing that hasn't been caught. :dunno:

Frankly, I wonder... What HASN'T gotten caught?

Anyone really believe that these two incidents are the only ones, and that they got caught both times?

Reminds me of a common tax law strategy. You pick a fight with the irs on a fairly obvious issue that you know you will ultimately lose. While the irs is busy focking with that, and gloating over thier win, you sneak ten times as much past them in more subtle ways.

We will never know the full story in so far as just how often or how badly they have cheated over the years, I think we have seen the tip of the iceberg a bit, and we see them walking the line too. I wonder if this notion of how to pervert the system may not have arisen from that bogus tuck rule call. Looking back could that have been the spark that lit the light and led Bellicheat to that "aha" moment where he started recognizing ways to cheat?

If it's four games for smoking a joint, which has absolutely zero impact on the game, how many games is appropriate for purposely breaking the rules to give you an advantage then having everyone in your organization act insulted and lie to you? Marcellus Wiley said it needs to be at least 8 games. My guess is four.

Yes. Asterisk, shamasterik. I'll take a tainted trophy and never feel bad about it. And hug it and squeeze it and make dirty love to it.

Goodell does not do it on his own...and from what I read, Troy Vincent will be the one handing down this one.
