peenie 1,690 Posted November 18, 2018 Scrooged is my favorite Christmas movie for sure. I really enjoyed Love Actually but I don't think of it as a Christmas movie. Heat and Cold Miser was the best, from whichever movie it was from.

jerryskids 5,190 Posted November 18, 2018 For non-animated, I would have to go with A Christmas Story. Honorable mention to Lampoon and Miracle on 34th St. I hadn't seen Miracle until a few years ago; it's actually a good movie. Bad Santa? That movie blows, sorry. Home Alone, Die Hard, Love Actually... Christmas movies? Are we really talking about Love Actually on a lightly trafficked FF site? Back to animated, I always enjoyed Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. jerryskids 5,190 Posted November 19, 2018 That was my go-to Christmas movie when I was young, you bite your tongue When bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) acts out the night before a family trip to Paris, his mother (Catherine O'Hara) makes him sleep in the attic. After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to have no family has come true. But his excitement sours when he realizes that two con men (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) plan to rob the McCallister residence, and that he alone must protect the family home. From Google. If you can tell the plot of a movie and never say anything connected to Christmas, it is not a Christmas movie. Sorry.

wiffleball 4,636 Posted November 20, 2018 So let me get this straight? You brought incense to a wooden barn filled with hay. Yeah, we'll be firing THAT up real soon. And YOU? 'mhrr' wtf is 'mhrr'? Three Wise Guys and not one of you geniuses figured out to bring some diapers or a casserole or a blanket? Go fuuck yourselves. And literally, pound sand. ...Leave the gold. wiffleball 4,636 Posted November 20, 2018 What? No Grinch? And what was the movie that Scrooge was based on? With little tiny Tim?
dain11279 927 Posted November 20, 2018 From Google. If you can tell the plot of a movie and never say anything connected to Christmas, it is not a Christmas movie. Sorry. Nice selective research From IMDB: An eight-year-old troublemaker must protect his house from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation From Wiki: Home Alone is a 1990 American Christmas comedy film written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. The film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, a boy who is mistakenly left behind when his family flies to Paris for their Christmas vacation. I can handle someone calling Die Hard not a Christmas Movie. Doing it with Home Alone is fighting words
jerryskids 5,190 Posted November 20, 2018 What? No Grinch? And what was the movie that Scrooge was based on? With little tiny Tim? Back to animated, I always enjoyed Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. Written by Charles Dickens.

tanatastic 2,061 Posted November 20, 2018 I can handle someone calling Die Hard not a Christmas Movie. Doing it with Home Alone is fighting words Yea die hard is just being snarky but Home alone as well as HA2 are blatantly Xmas movies and theres not even an argument to be made. Really strange to say it isnt.

Mike Honcho 4,014 Posted November 20, 2018 My parents favorite Christmas movie is the one where I'm 3 and I get into my first pedal firetruck, happy as can be...and then my 2 year old brother comes up behind me, looks at me in the firetruck and cracks me in the skull with a flashlight he had gotten for Xmas. Considered some of the greatest cinema in Honcho family history.
