    5 BOLD Predictions (2013 edition)

What the hell do you think is going on in St. Louis this season?
  2. Corky76

    Sproles vs. Bush in PPR

If they both play 16 games then I would lean slightly towards Reggie. Since he never finished a season down in New Orleans I will go with Sproles.

    5 BOLD Predictions (2013 edition)

Some of these are absurd - so I'll throw in my .02: Wes Welker will not score 5 TD's CJ2K will finish ahead of Foster, McCoy, Lynch, and Alf Morris in PPR format. Giovanni Bernard will lead all rookie RB's in PPR format. The #2 TE in all formats wil be Vernon Davis There will be a rookie WR in New England that finishes in top 25 in all formats
  4. LMAO! That's actually a pretty funny response
  5. I haven't posted on here in quite some time but am in the middle of my first draft of the year (slow email - Draft Experts - NFFC) and have been REALLY annoyed by one person in particular. After every player is drafted, he thinks he needs to analyze the pick - that will be the #1 on this list: 1. Overanalyzer: This is the person that always comments "great pick", "bust", "steal", etc. I could honestly care less about your opinion on who I just drafted but.... Gee thanks. 2. Guy that will always wait til last second to pick: Usually this is the same person that has 2 laptops and 10 spreadsheets in front of him. He relies on every other source except for his own judgement for his next selection. It doesn't matter if the time limit is 30 seconds or 30 minutes, he will always wait til the clock is almost up. Normally this guy is a walkover so I am glad to see him in my leagues:) 3. Guy that consistently picks players already drafted: The polar opposite of #2. This guy is completely unprepared and annually tries to take Reggie Wayne in the 9th round after he was drafted in the 4th. Surprisingly, this guy usually beats #2. 4. Guy that always wants to trade: Inevitably there is always the guy that drafts based on what he read about VBD and thinks he's gonna pull a fast one on the rest of the league by drafting 5 RB's with his first 6 picks then using that as tradebait. Immediately after the draft is finished he is already talking trades. This was a strategy that worked back in 1999. 5. The Drunk Guy: He might be a combination of all 4 above or he might not be any of them. I have a couple of good pals that get hammered during drafts and they always seem to use it as a cop-out. "Oh I coulda won that league if I stayed sober at the draft like you did".

    Who should I target

My first question is how the heck does Best and Murray both go for $10? I am just curious mainly because I am about to do my first ever auction draft after almost 20 years of traditional ff. Was Murray a steal or did you get ripped on Best in your opinion? I do like your strategy based on the league rules and you still have almost half the $$$$ left... According to what I've read about auction drafts, 63% of all players go for $1. Does that appear to be true in this draft or any other auction that you've done? And one more thing as far as this post in general. I think it belongs on this board, not the "help' board. This post has nothing to do with "Rate my team" or "Who should I start" this is about strategy and belongs over here. Just my .02!

    Moreno vs. Matthews

I agree almost completely with this. However, a couple key points left out..... Sproles couldn't block in passing situations, which is why LT got as much playing time as he did. LT was quite obvioulsy the inferior runner but at the same time the superior blocker. That is the only reason Sproles didn't get almost all the action last year. Matthews doesn't have to be the best blocker in the world, but simply better than Sproles to stay in on about 80% of all offensive plays (assuming the fresh rookie legs are as good or better than Sproles). That shouldn't take much to accomplish that. Buckhalter on the other hand was not only the better runner, but the better blocker as well. Moreno was outplayed in both key categories by a 30 something RB coming off of multiple knee surgeries - not good to say the least. Personally I think Matthews is by FAR the lesser risk. A lot will play out in preseason but if I was to draft a league tonight based on what I've seen I would rank Matthews as a late 2nd rd-early 3rd rounder and Moreno as a mid 4th rd.-5th rounder - regardless of ppr or not.

    High Stakes leagues

My co-owner in that is ChronicHuskers. You fftoday regulars prolly know him a little better than me.

    High Stakes leagues

Hey FlaHawker, I am doing the main event for the WCOFF in Orlando this year. If you change your mind and do it this season put up a message on here. Or even if you're gonna do it next season. I'm doing it for the convenience factor too since I live in Lakeland.

    High Stakes leagues

I too am doing the WCOFF for the first time ever this year. They had our "draft position show" online on the WCOFF last night and I drew the #9 spot. ugghhhh!!! I also signed up for Aaron's PFFWC site and have drafted a team there already. It is going through its growing pains right now but I think it's eventually going to be one of the best online contests out there. The format is like the FFOC but he isn't going to skip town like our buddy Stan

    opinion on my team

I don't know man. If anyone is capable of burning my team from the bench it would be runned-down ronnie Brown.....

    opinion on my team

I am sure this post will be getting moved to the help board shortly but before it goes into that wasteland: I actually really like the team Rice - stud Jennings - The only reason he is lower this year is because his TD's were down from 9 to 4. If he gets his TD totals back up (which he will) he will regain his top 5 WR status. He is the best WR on the team that will pass the most in the NFL. What more could you possibly want from a #1 WR? Matthews - This is your boom or bust guy. If he looks good this preseason and the Bolts use him like they said they were going to after the draft, he will be an early 2nd rounder in late August no doubt. Romo - I love him this year! If you look at what he did with Miles as his main man in the 2nd half of last season and then add Bryant into this equation - I see him having his best season ever this year and quite possibly finishing as the #1 QB. I don't like the Brown pick - he has burnt me too many times in the past and I think Ricky is the man to have in that backfield Gonzo is a dependable TE Nicks is a steal in rd.7! I've done 2 drafts this year and he was picked in rd. 5 in both of those. I don't like the breaston pick either - I think Doucet will emerge as the #2 in Zona this year M. Bush is a guy I am constantly going to target late this year until other people figure out that Fargas is gone, McFadden was a bust, the Raiders have a pretty damn good O-line, and they have upgraded their QB.

FFOC: Was it all a scam?

I guess I didn't know about the last name thing. I did know that the million dollar winner last year and the runner up from year one were both from Nebraska. I find that very odd. How much can a couple of toothless hillbillies who sit around talking about corn know about fantasy football anyway? I will miss the contest. I had a lot of fun the last couple years on the FFOC......

FFOC: Was it all a scam?

Well, maybe I am the only person from this bored who played in the FFOC the last 2 years (although there were over 11,000 teams last season so I highly doubt it). Well, it has officially shut down and I for one am VERY disappointed. It was a fun twist on ff and the Vegas bracket with their cutline was definitely unique and added an element to ff that no other contest offered!!! I guess bringing in $500,000 a year and paying out over $1.25 million for 2 consecutive years (as they pointed out) tends to make a company go bankrupt thoguh.

    NFL Trivia

Did u honestly know that without googling? If so, impressive!!! I was with shovelheadt in that my first impulse was Kenny Anderson but that was just a single season record which Brees tied. Good question though!!
