    Jerome Harrison

Started Jennings. I wouldn't mind losing for that reason if it made real football sense. I just fail to see the logic in what Mangina is doing. One would think you'd want to see what you have in the rookie. Instead he's going after Jim Brown's record with a fourth-year back in a meaningless football game. No wonder this organization sucks more than the Bills How do you run hard for a coach like that? Good job Jennings. Way to run hard against a Steelers D that dominates us. Way to find the redzone on the ground for the first time in how many games. Now let me reward you with a spot on the bench when we have a cupcake matchup. You have to wonder if their wasn't a hidden injury or discipline issues or is Mangini just this dumb of a coach?

    WR & TE Help

If Harvin is healthy I would give him the shot. If not go with Britt, who should get more targets than Avant. And I don't have strong feelings about either Olsen or Miller, but I'm leaning towards Miller. Harvin v. Panthers Britt v. Dolpins Avant v. Niners (49ers have done a good job shuting down pass recently) H. Miller v. Packers G. Olsen v. Ravens

Mendenhall, Thomas or a Cleveland back

(On if he knew how he was going to split reps at running back going into the Pittsburgh game)- "There's a plan going into the game, and then we evaluate it during the game to see who's being more effective, which types of runs are being more effective. If it leans more towards J.C. (Jerome Harrison) then he'll get some more carries. If it leans more towards Chris (Jennings) then he'll get some more carries. In last week's case Josh (Cribbs) got some more carries." (On if he would go into a game saying Player X is going to get most of the carries, knowing that plan could change)- "It's more, 'These are the packages that we like.' You put those out there. You run through the plays that you like and see how it's going. If it's hitting like you expect to hit then you'll stay with it. If not, you may transition into something a little further down the list." (On Robaire Smith)- "I think he's improved. [We will] really have to see today and it will probably come down to a game-time decision with him." (On how much Cribbs could carry the ball and still be effective on special teams)- "I don't know if there is a set number. Most people play, if they play a full game, somewhere around 65 plays on average. Now, that can vary on how demanding the position is or the focus of the position. I'd say it depends how many special teams plays there are, because that number can vary each game. How many returns does he have? How many kickoff returns? How many punt returns? Those things affect it. How many snap do you want to use him as a receiver? That would affect it. He is on the coverage teams as well. It's hard to say, but a full game would be about 65. He's just in a spot that is very demanding. He is going to take a lot of hits between the kickoff returns and the punt returns. He is going to be involved in a lot of physical plays on the coverage plays. You have to take that in account." (On where he feels like a guy like Cribbs could be most effective, either running the ball 12 times and catching a few passes or in the return game)- "I think if you are carrying the ball 12 times a game and catching a few passes, you could still return like he has been. I thought that he was very effective last week. He really did what you said. He returned the ball, caught a pass, made a tackle and ran the ball. That's a pretty effective game. The other nice thing about Josh is, anytime he is in there, if he is in a different spot than say the Wildcat position, there is always a threat. There's the threat of him on the reverse. There's the threat of him on the catch-and-run. That dictates some of the coverage as well. Even if he is not getting the ball, having him there and having him there in a capacity where he can actually run a standard play is important. You want to be able to put your normal offense out there and run those plays, so that every time he is in they can't check the defense. If they do start checking it then the plays that you have designed based on your normal offense should be very effective against it, because you know what they are going to be in." (On what putting Cribbs solely at running back would do to a defensive coordinator)- "I think, as a defensive coordinator, that wouldn't be a bad thing. To have him in a standard offensive set as a running back, you can now run your standard defenses, because those plays are going to be traditional type plays. We've faced a lot of good running backs throughout the season and you have different things to deal with those guys. One of the nice things about Josh is, when he is in the Wildcat you gain an extra blocker. Someone has to cover the quarterback, the quarterback becomes a runner and you gain extra players, whether it's the fullback and a guy that would be in a tailback position. That's where the numbers part of it comes in."
  4. I'm in a PPR league...I need to pick two backs between Mendenhall, Thomas, Harrison and Jennings. I'm leaning right now between Mendenhall and Jennings. I like that Mendenhall sounds like he'll get a lot of playing time and might have an op to stay in on 3rd downs, so he might catch a few more balls. Plus out of all my options he is the only full-time starter. I like Jennings because I have to imagine the Browns are going to give Jennings a chance to audition for next year and he is playing a weak KC D. Let me know your thoughts and post a link so I can give my input on your question. Good luck to all this week 15.

Is Cleveland a sneaky D/ST plan?

My co-worker pointed out that Bowe does come back this week.

Need an RB2 to pair with AP, have five choices

I think Westbrook is the way to go if he's healthy. Other wise I like the idea of Forsett because it's a PPR league. Mendenhall is also tempting.
  7. They are drawing KC and OAK. Really considering starting Cleveland against KC this week. My other defense options include Seattle against TB and Pittsburgh vs. G.B. Team Defense / Special Teams 0 points allowed 10 2-6 points allowed 7 7-13 points allowed 4 14-17 points allowed 1 Blocked Punt or FG return for TD 6 Each Interception 2 Each Fumble Recovered 2 Blocked Punt, PAT or FG 2 Each Safety 2 Each Sack 1 Kickoff Return TD 6 Punt Return TD 6 Interception Return TD 6 Fumble Return TD 6 Every 25 kickoff return yards 1 Every 25 punt return yards 1 22-27 points allowed -1 28-34 points allowed -4 35-45 points allowed -7 46+ points allowed -10

better value rest of the way?

I own both those guys too, but I don't have the benefit of ADP. I like Mendenhall only because you know he's going to get the ball. Pierre's workload is inconsistent, but Pierre does have more PPR upside.

    Bill Pass D

Byrd is the word. The Bills can't stop the run so Jags will run all day. NE is about the only team that had success through the air. I would consider benching MSW if you have better options. MJD could get the bulk of the receiving yards in this one. MSW stats for the day 5 catches, 65 yards

Curious about folks opinion on Carson Palmer

I'm worried about him. If I draft him I'm taking a backup a few rounds sooner than normal. He certainly has good upside, but he'll miss TJ.

    Ronnie Brown Vs. Pierre Thomas

Both good picks. My gut tell my Pierre just because I think NO has a better offense. I think Miami benefited from the Wild Cat scheme and teams not being ready for it. I expect teams in the East will make the adjustments and that should cut into some of those long plays Brown pulled off. With that said I don't think you can go wrong with either guy.

    WR breakouts: AGon vs Royal

Gonzo. Can't trust Orton. I really love how Denver destroyed that team this off season. I predict they'll finish last in that division.
  14. My commish didn't lay out any longterm rules. This year we keep two and pay what he cost last year. But after that... How does your league work?

    Deuce taking carries

Payton you bastard! What the hell does Pierre have to do to carve out a larger role in your offense. Deuce shouldn't be playing this week! Damn slow wheels of justice.
