Guy might as well have retired after Von Oelhoffen took him out. Was never really the same again :(

Don't know what draft pick they own, but I think they might go that route.

They have the #15 pick, based on last year thats too late in the first round to land a QB and I don't think they're ready to go into rebuilding mode. With Palmer retiring, and a lot of the Oline likely doing the same or being cut, they could make a play for Cousins or a different free agent. I could also see them calling the chiefs and seeing what the price on Smith is going to be. They have a solid, but veteran group on the d-side of the ball, and trading for Smith, then using cap space to land a solid O-line and a receiver or two makes sense to me.

Is Smith Cheaper then Cousins?m

I think Cousins would be the better move.

Thanks for the reply.

So Smith would indeed come cheaper.

Mmm yeah either one would be a good move of course, and I agree won't your statement about their draft postion being too late too draft one.

Mmm I think Cousins would be my first choice.

But money could become the road block.

Going too be interesting.

Jay busbee of Yahoo news would love for you to believe Kaepernick is going to both ...at the same time.

I was going to say - hes sucked ever since then and has probably cost Arizona more games than you can imagine. Very average career, at best.

Why do so many people bust on other people just because they are not the best at their job in the history of their job. What % of quarterbacks that have played in the NFL have been as successful in their career as Palmer? The guy was a true competitor and had ups and downs like most people in their careers but he was around for a long time and better than most of his QB peers during his time. And if someone only wamts to talk championships, then the majority of players suck throughout their career.

Agreed.

I just think he was on his way to potential greatness. Instead he ended up having a long, decent career. No shame in that, but what couldve been...

True, but also gives the reminder that football is a team game as much or more than any sport out there.

His lack of mobility really hindered him, especially late in his career in AZ. If given time he was a very solid starter, but he was essentially a sitting duck. I think the hits just piled up over his career.

He never looked like he was enjoying himself.

He was a top 10 QB for most of his career. That's pretty good.

early in his career, he was one exciting player to watch. He hasnt been as good recently, but that is typical of players when they start to get old and get worn down by various injuries.

I just traded to get David Johnson this year in a keeper league. Sure hope they hire the right head coach to bring in a good offensive philosophy for him. Arians knew how to make DJ shine. Also wonder how a new quarterback will re-value DJ as an asset in fantasy, hopefully they go get an experienced vet. Cousins would be great and Alex Smith would be good enough.
