I'm not clicking that link this morning

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, it is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver. ~Jack Handey (VIA IronToeNedney)

If Posty is on board with this, this could be the 1st thing the entire geek club agrees on?

On board with what? Agreeing on the speech or making one cry?

Agreed.  I watch it every year during Jimmy V week.  Then I have to kill a bunch of kittens to make me feel like a man again.

Nope, tearing up like a focking woman every time...

both, but more so the speech itself.

if you can watch this and not cry, you're not human and probably love to make threads about dead babies

It is a good speech, but definitely not the greatest... I don't recall crying either when I first saw it...

There are many speeches better than this one...

MLK "I have a dream"
JFK "Inauguration Address”
Reagan "Challenger Address"
FDR "First Inauguration Address"
Lincoln "Gettysburg Address"
Patrick Henry "Give me liberty or give me death"

Churchill and Teddy Roosevelt probably had a lot of ones as well...

Considering the thread starter, I was sure it was the "I love my dead gay son!" Scene from heathers

Not sure what you're trying to say here.

I'm not even sure I like your tone

That really has no relevance, when you're talking about the "Greatest Of All Time".

Safe to say these were not originals like Valvano's......paid speech writers and others contributed to their being - which takes away from them (imo).

Yes. you can have your opinion and you posted it.

It isn't the same as mine.

I didn't make any rules for opinions.

Was explaining why I believe Valvano's to be the GOAT
