notJames 0 Posted June 21, 2006 So I've got Edge (my perennial franchise player) and Portis, and I can only keep one of them before the draft. There have been trade offers for Portis, but none for Edge. I'm starting to wonder which one I should keep. I know Portis is established in a system that uses him often and well, whereas Edge is in a new environment with a susceptible OL. But it's also an explosive offense that will need to score a lot to win, plus I think he's an excellent runner who doesn't necessarily need to rely on blockers to eat up yardage. Am I wrong? Should I let Portis go for an extra draft pick (which I need since I traded one away last season), or listen to the statistics and keep him? Any and all help would be appreciated. JOHN 316 7 Posted June 21, 2006 I also have Edge as a potential keeper, along with Fitzgerald......I'm leary of keeping both. I think Edge will get used more in Arizona than he did in Indy, so if you can trade Portis for something equivalent, I'd do it. Of course, it depends on what kind of starting roster you need, number of keepers you can keep, etc.....but i don't think there's much to choose between Edge or Portis. biglou 2 Posted June 21, 2006 I have to agree. Edge is a bit of risk, but his upside in that offense is huge. Personally in my league we can keep up to 3 players. I'm keeping Shaun Alexander, Lamont Jordan, and Edge even though I've recieved trade offers for all three. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'm very high on Edge, as he's been very good to me over the past 3 seasons. And you're right, JOHN 316, their overall values seems pretty equal, even if their perceived values don't.
