6 Keep Dynasty league draft strategy help needed

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

I'm in a 10 team PPR 6 keeper league that I took over a last place team from 2 seasons ago

My current draft pick is 4th overall, and with 2 picks in the 3rd round. 3.04 and 3.07

my keepers will be the following

RB1:L.Miller

RB2:M.Ingram

RB3:T.Coleman

WR1:K.Allen

WR2:M.Crabtree

WR3:D.Moncreif

Also own L.fitzgerald and J.Stewart but have been advised to keep the players listed.

If you assume that the top 60 players(give or take a few based on preferences) will be kept, what type of targets should I be going after in the first several rounds?

-Pick up a rookie RB like mixon or Fournette if available?

-try to grab a RB or WR that isnt kept like S.ware or B.Powell or T.west or L.Fitzgerald(redraft him) Tyreek hill or Tyrell Williams type player?

-go after high value handcuffs/RBBC like mcfadden or D.henry or AP or J.Charles?

Fournette would be my pick.

Fournette would be my pick.

I'm 4th to pick, so good chance Fournette doesn't get to me. I'd be lucky to grab mixon or CMC.

Another thought I had is what if a top 5 QB is available for me to pick as my 1st pick. One owner has Matt Ryan and Brady and will not keep both given his other players on his roster. Should I grab one of them first if no rookie RB's make it to me? The 3 teams who pick ahead of me aren't loaded at RB so its not the best chance.

What is the rest of your team?

The 6 keepers i listed will be my "team" when we start our draft, so that's where i'll be starting from. We dont get to keep and D/ST or K unless we use 1 of our 6 keeper spots of them.

QB or even a Te.

You already have six picks from the keepers you have, so looking at a top Te or QB would be a good move.

If Fournette isn't available.

Mixon is worth a pick up at the pick also, but I don't like him going into this season with Bernard and Hill still with the Bengals.

But in a keeper league I would look at Mixon.

And don't dismiss D Cook I think he's worthy of that pick also.

Sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I was wondering the rest of your team from last year, ie other possible keepers.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, grab a top 5-7 QB that someone doesnt end up keeping if available, or a good rookie prospect.

To expand on that thought, I was talking to a friend of mine(who won his league 2 years in a row) and he stated he always grabs QB, D/ST, and K asap. His arguments being that other positions like RB and WR tend to run closer together and the difference between having a top 3-5 QB,D/ST and K outweighs the other 2 positions.

Would like to know yours or anyone elses thoughts on this. We always see wait til the end to draft D and K but if everyone does that shouldnt we adjust out strategy and "take what is given to us?"

Ah gotcha,

The rest of my team is :

J.Winston

S.Shepard

J.Stewart

L.fitzgerald

M.Wallace

D.Booker(out)

R.Kelley

T.hightower

C.meredith

I would keep Meredith, you will be disappointed if you drop him.

I think Crabtree is the one throw back.

I don't disagree about meredith, especially with reports of Kevin white not being confident and not looking like his usual self. But you really think throwing back Crabtree over moncreif is a good idea?

You think Meredith hits WR2 numbers like Crabtree?

After Meredith became a starter last year he scored more points per game than Crabtree. Meredith was the #15 wr in the league playing with Matt Barkley after becoming a full time starter. Meredith is a better player than Crabtree and however bad the Bears QB's are this year they will be 100 times better than Matt Barkley.

I could see keeping crabtree over moncrief. Crabtree was the #12 wr last year and is playing with a good offense. My problem with him is that he is just not good. He is only putting up numbers because he is getting 150 targets a year. His efficiency per target is not very good.

Maybe he keeps getting targets, but if Patterson steals even 20-30 of those targets then Crabtree quickly drops down to a low end #2 wr.

Whatever you decide with your #3 wr, I think Meredith is your #2 wr.

According to fantasydata.com Crabtree scored more points per game and Meredith ended up being the #40 WR? Where did you see he was #15?

Now crabtree over moncreif is easy for me, so i guess maybe the real question is moncreif or meredith?

I hope this doesn't come across negatively, im extremely curious on your point of view.

Meredith did not become a starter until week 5.
