IGotWorms 3,310 Posted October 28, 2016 Washington (CNN)So much for the honeymoon period. The election is 12 days away but Republicans are already promising years of investigations and blocked nominees if Hillary Clinton wins. Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the Utah Republican who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, says he has lined up enough material from Clinton's four years as secretary of state for two years of probes. "It's a target-rich environment," Chaffetz told The Washington Post. "Even before we get to Day One, we've got two years' worth of material already lined up. She has four years of history at the State Department, and it ain't good." Then there's the Supreme Court vacancy. Republicans have said for months they won't act on President Barack Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland to fill the opening left by Justice Antonin Scalia's death because they want the winner of the presidential race to fill that vacancy. Now, one senator says the GOP should consider blocking any Clinton nominee, leaving the nation's high court with just eight members. Sixteen focking years of this garbage. No wonder nobody thinks you clowns can focking govern. http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/27/politics/hillary-clinton-republicans-congress/index.html

Voltaire 4,556 Posted October 28, 2016 The Dems will likely win the Senate and with the Reid rules from last time can get nominees confirmed over filibusters. If so, the shiite won't hit the fan until after the midterms.

Voltaire 4,556 Posted October 28, 2016 She brought her investigations on herself. Should have been more honest and less greedy. Maybe so, but the constant investigation stuff is annoying. I got sick of her being investigated about 87 or 92 investigations ago and just tune that sh*t out. It took me a few months to realize this email thing was actually truly a legitimate scandal because I wasn't paying attention at first. I get so use to ignoring the constant, endless, nonstop useless obsessive GOP whining that it's all white noise.

IGotWorms 3,310 Posted October 28, 2016 Don't get ahead of yourself. It's been 8, might be 12. Sure won't be 8. Won't be 12 either unless Republicans pull their focking heads out of their asses. She could be beat after one term. At that point it's 12 years of the same party. And she isn't popular. However women will not want the first female president being a one-termer. Still, she's beatable. But it ain't gonna focking happen unless the GOP offers some vision other than the same tired obstructionism. Plus they need a decent focking candidate that the crazies in the party don't shoot down. Can be done but they need to do some serious soul searching. Like they claimed they did after the 2012 election but obviously did not.

The Republican base and the Republican leadership have different priorities and different remedies on how to go from here. We'll see post-Trump what the future has in store for them, if they can bridge the divide and how long that'll take. They also don't have a unifying figure. The last GOP president is unpopular and out of sight, the Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney faction have to figure out how to deal with the Donald Trump faction. The only unifying feature is anti-Hillary. That won't be enough this year and may not be enough in 2018 or 2020, they'd be better off repairing their own divide first. It's a long way to go from here, if it's even possible in the near future. Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted October 28, 2016 If the GOP does go this route, it will be the end of the party. There are a ton of people who are looking for a common sense government that makes changes that allow us to spend less and help make the economy stronger. An obstructionist push by the GOP will cause those people to go elsewhere. Might be good in the long-term because that would open the door for a new party that is fiscally conservative and socially tolerant.

RLLD 3,455 Posted October 28, 2016 My problem with this is the fact that the GOP seems intent to pervert the will of the people, if people vote and they elect that monstrous piece of walking excrement that is Hillary Clinton, thats it...... No way should they be wasting resources to then spend years attempting to deny the people that which they have chosen....enough is enough....
