Peyton Manning is an interesting case right now, and Dr. IMMensaMind has a prognosis

 

I think Manning's cervical injury has affected his handstrength. I think his arm strength is down a bit, but I think his grip strength has gone away.

 

I think if the ball is slippery - and it was slippery as hell on MNF - Peyton cannot throw it. I think the first truly cold home game - or wet away game - and this wobble ball with nothing on it will show up again.

 

I saw a couple of throws which were fairly deep and pretty accurate (notably the long toss to DT in the middle of the field late in the game). He had plenty on that - it looked like his grip was secure - so his arm took over.

 

I think it's his finger strength. Odd.

I know - and I think degraded hand strength is the cause, and it is exacerbated when the ball is wet, or cold.
