I think you're absolutely correct. I'm betting that he paused a moment when first reciting his name to be sure that he got it right; be sure it was in fact not 'David', but 'La David', and that's what they're attempting to pick up and beat over his head.

If she had; when she saw any hurt or pain from her as she listened to Trump over the phone in the car in which they were both purportedly riding, she would have instantly stopped and turned to her and said "I'm sure that it wasn't Trump's intention to sound indelicate, or uncaring. What he meant was..." etc etc.

 

She would have protected her feelings, regardless whether Trump was indelicate or not.

Absolutely none of this would have been an issue if it weren't for the fact that first Trump didn't address the Niger losses at all for almost 2 weeks and then and only then did so because the Press kept hounding him on it. I think so far he has still yet to say or tweet the word Niger.

 

And he as always, got defensive and randomly made up some b******* about how past presidents never made the kinds of calls that he made and that he had contacted every single soldier who had died on his watch. Both of which were blatant lies and started this entire shitshow.

 

His knee jerk reaction to always say but but but Obama! Really did him in on this one. He randomly threw out that lie that Obama never called anybody and his biggest mistake was that some of Obama's former staffers were now in the Press Corps. And they were in the office when Obama made some of those calls. He was immediately confronted and came back with his usual b**** move of "oh I don't know somebody told me". But wouldn't say who. Because no one did. Because no one could.

 

On top of all that. His staff was listening in as he said he had contacted all the soldiers who had died. They immediately placed a rush order to the Pentagon for a list of all the soldiers who had died. - Because Trump not only hadn't contacted them, the White House didn't even have a list of all of them at that point.

 

So, not only did he pick an unwinnable fight. He's the one who started it. And that's what makes this Above All Else a huge and entirely avoidable cawck up.

 

So, congratulations on your fishing trip. I hope you feel validated that you got a little attention today.
