In disciplining Vick, commissioner Roger Goodell said Vick's admitted conduct was "not only illegal but also cruel and reprehensible" and regardless whether he personally placed bets, "your actions in funding the betting and your association with illegal gambling both violate the terms of your NFL player contract and expose you to corrupting influences in derogation of one of the most fundamental responsibilities of an NFL player."
  11. I'm trying to think of another sports star who fell this far, this fast and this hard. OJ comes to mind but he was done as a player. Rae Curruth fell hard but he was not a star player. Mike Tyson could qualify but boxers almost always end up in the hurt locker so it's not really a surprise. Maybe Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry would count, although both of them went down slowly. You might have to go as far back as the Black Sox scandal of 1919 to find an example as spectacular as Vick's. I think Vick stands alone as the biggest loser we have ever seen with respect to having it all and then pissing it all away.

  13. it's odd...when TO was having issues with the Eagles, FF Today (Mike McGregor) had lots to say....but Vick, 100x worse, gets no commentary from the powers here and many posts I've made about this criminal have been "lost" or closed. it don't matter.... 'cause the truth is not to be denied...and ya can't delete or close what Vick has done.
  14. this guy had Vick's money in his pocket to ignore the Bad Newz Kennels...I'd bet on it. Now with the sh!t hitting the fan, he needs to save himself and sees this move as helpful to himself. I'm hopeful as part of his plea, Vick will flip on Poindexter this stuff is as dirty as it gets and anyone who thinks Vick plays in the NFL again likey thinks Hillary/Obama is what America needs to win the war.

Impact: The evidence presented against Vick in the federal case can be used against him on the state level. This could add jail time for Vick. "The execution of these animals - and the manner in which they were executed - is startlingly offensive and demanding of prosecution," Poindexter said.
