Phindeli Town Buford, Wyoming enacts a 9% "Laugh Tax"

Recommended Posts

Not to be out done by the latest tax by the Windy City, Phindeli Town Buford, , population 1, has enacted its own form of entertainment tax. The Laugh Tax is meant to bring in tax dollars proportional to each of it's residents amount of amusement they experience each day. The name is misleading as laughing is not the only taxable act. Smiling, giggling, clapping and even shenanigans are all taxable acts included in this new age of constant entertainment. The tax will be measured by the volume, frequency, and duration of amusement. Pham Dinh Nguyen, the current occupant, owner, mayor, and master of Phindeli Town Buford, told us that although the 9% seems like an odd number to represent how much human emotion owes the government, it's his town so he will do whatever the hell he wants to it.

Don Sammons, former Buford sole resident, could not be reached for a quote on the new tax initiative in Buford, though we assume he would have said " that."
