Key Bridge in Baltimore struck by ship-collapses

Families of the deceased would've preferred that.

That barge drifted for a long time.... why doesn't it have anchors? Even if they lost electrical, surely they could manually lower some.?.
  3. Bud Light: 110 calories Budweiser: 145 calories 35 calorie savings? That's like three Doritos. What's the bloody point? Never understood the "light" beer garbage.
  4. Wouldn't be shocked if I'm wrong. Four key stats I look at in college basketball for gambling... versus their OWN conference: Shooting %, 3 pt %, Ast/to ratio, and defensive shooting % James Madison: 47.1%, 36.3%, 1.5, and 41.3% Wisconsin: 46.5%, 36.0%, 1.4, and 46.4%. Madison wins every category. Doesn't inspire me, but still a low spread for a team that beat Purdue and gave Illinois all they could handle.
  5. Gambling wise... my upsets are UAB, Clemson and Nebraska (slight dog when I bet it). Monster bet of the day... Big Wisky
  6. What's great about March Madness is the refs don't usually go overboard calling fouls unless it's egregious. Games are fast paced and back-forth... fun to watch. Sucks they blew that one.

    Rangers Bruins tonight...

Ok just Youtubed it... I remember Lange and he's good, but wasn't the one I was thinking of - apparently it was Mike Emrick. Don't know why I associated him with Penguins, but in any case Emrick is the greatest.
  8. Took the day off work and been watching since 12:00 streaming to numerous monitors and a big-screen TV. Can't get enough. Even if I didn't gamble on the games, I'd still love it, and I despise the NBA. Something special about the opening two days of March Madness. Upsets, and buzzer beaters left and right.

Bet a little money on the game, so I'm streaming it... and quickly realize - the play-by-play announcer is the worst hockey announcer I've ever heard. After Google searches apparently his name is Jack Edwards... whoever that is. It's hockey, ya have to talk really fast to keep up with the passes and shots. Not Jack Edwards. Doesn't name half the players passing it around because he can't keep up and 20 seconds after the shot he finally says "and that shot went wide" yeah, we know. We saw it 20 seconds ago. Anyone else watching? It's carried by "NESN." I'm not a hockey buff, but I from what I remember the guy who used to call the Penguins games was my all-time fav.
  10. Agreed, it's always been the cost of doing business. The penalty should be you're permanently out of business. That'd stop it.
  11. Then you should be most concerned with reducing poverty.
  12. Costs more to execute. Want to limit appeals and make it cheaper, fine wrongful executions increases. How many can you stomach? Family members of the condemned didn't do anything wrong, yet they lose a father/son/brother etc. More innocent families in misery is a good idea? And for what? Capital punishment has no deterrence. Nobody ever thought "I'd kill him, if it were only life in prison, but that death penalty is too much... oh well." Then there's state-sanctioned executions - ya think the US should be on the most state executions list with China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, etc? That's the mentality of those countries. The old "just kill 'em after they're found guilty" acting like a tough guy on crime. Ain't much thought behind it. I do support long prison sentences for violent crime, though the US already has some of the harshest penalties in the world.
  13. I don't get ESPN so haven't noticed, but meh... let the lady's have a little spot-light. It's technically sports so it doesn't bother me when it's mentioned in sports reporting. What I have noticed is all the women sports-casters calling basketball/football games.... ugh. The networks have to know they sound awful, but do it anyway. I guess they're hoping it'll someday sound normal and maybe it will, but for now it sucks.
