Best Rock Screamer

Recommended Posts

A studio recording is one thing, a live performance is another. Who's your best / favorite screamer?

For me it's Ian Gillian of Deep Purple fame. :headbanger:

If dead people are eligible for consideration, allow me to nominate Sam Kinneson.

edit: rock screamer, nevermind. :wall: Need better reading comprehension.

Ian Gillan- Black Sabbath. Trashed.

Great song. Lots of screams.

For a one song nomination I'd give a nod to John Lennon on Revolution and on the female list Janis Joplin

Some good live examples on "Unleashed in the East", especially "Sinner".

Wow, Jessica Hahn at her hottest. I'd be totally surprised if she wasn't hit on by every guy in that video.

Ronnie James Dio

Eric A. Knutson (Flotsam and Jetsam)

I thought of Dio, but mostly consider him as the most powerful voice...I'll have to listen to some of his screams

He can still sing.

Axl can't sing anymore either, nor can Don Dokken (he may be the worst) and Tom Keifer is really bad

know who still belts?

He was a shell of his former self. I saw them live in 2000 opening for Iron Maiden and was blown away by how much of the group’s live act depended on pre-recorded high vocals since it was obvious the frontman could not hit those notes anymore. That was an eye-opener.

I need to check if that album is on Spotify to check if it's that bad. Surprised the review didn't just say "Sh1t sandwich".

Edit: it's available... listening now

Edit: wow it is pretty terrible. I had enough after about 4 songs. Shame as Operation Mindcrime was a great album.
