    Stafford owners without a backup:

Go with Hill. Stafford should start. If he doesn't, you need a 3:05pm replacement

    James Casey...

Grab him for nothing right now if you can. I have to admit that I'm a Rice alum so I am biased, but I also saw a ton of this guy play in college and he literally catches anything that is thrown in his direction. As has been stated before, his biggest "weakness" is blocking, but as Houston has basically lost it's #2 receiver, I think they are going to be more concerned about receiving, and I don't think . The way I see it is that more likely than not, he won't do anything, but his upside potential is through the roof. If you can snag him for nothing more than a roster spot, go ahead and grab him, because if he does blow up this week 40-50 yds and a TD, he won't be this cheap ever again.

    VY update

This reminds me of that South Park episode where Kenny is brain dead and Cartman and Kyle argue over who decides on pulling the plug. At the end of the episode, they finally find Kenny's will and Kenny's wishes were that if he were ever in a vegetative state, "please, for the love of God…don't ever show me in that condition on national television."

NFL Rules that need to be changed!

    1. Eliminate the push out rule - I disagree. The problem I see here is that this will kill about 4 yards on each side of the endzone and make the fade route very difficult to execute. Instead of trying to make a play on the ball, all a defender would have to do is wait for the receiver to go up for the ball and just throw him out of bounds. It is usually a judement call by the refs, but I've never seen a game where I just go, damn why is that rule there. 2. Eliminate down by contact rule - Strongly disagree. I hate this in college football. How many times have I seen a play blown dead where a receiver had to dive to make a catch, but had plenty of room to get up and run. This is a place where in college, I go, damn why is that rule there. 3. Fix the tuck rule. This is like those stories you see about girls getting bit by sharks and killer ameobies you get when swimming that have killed like 20 people in the last 10 years. For 95% of NFL QBs, this rule will never come into play for them during their careers. They can fix it, but it isn't really a big deal for me. 4. Eliminate the QB slide rule - I like this rule because I don't want to see Matt Cassell or Jim Sorgi. I want to see Payton Manning and Tom Brady. 5. Eliminate the "K" balls - The reason "K" balls are used is because teams will cheat and doctor the balls to make them easier to kick. Eliminate that by using brand new balls that no one touches. Why exactly does this bother you anyway. 6. Eliminate the pocket rule - Again, I want to see Brady and Manning, not their backups, so if this helps to protect them, then great. 7. Penalize for punting out of bounds - The poster before me had it right, punters are under a lot of pressure; although maybe tacking 5-10 yards (simulating the return) may not be bad. 8. Eliminate play calls from the sideline - Go talk to Billicheat to find out why this rule is necessary. This is kind of like the war on drugs. You could require QBs to call their own plays and then great a huge system to monitor and police that teams aren't sending signals in then have huge controversies when they get caught. I say give the defensive capt one as well so that Billicheat will have to figure out another way to cheat. 9. Eliminate coaches challenges - I would actually like to see a more "college" like system here. I still think that coaches should be able to challenge. This ensures that no one can complain if a call is missed. I just don't think the game should stop while the ref runs all the way across the field to stick his head under a hood. I say copy the college system and have a replay official make the call with a time limit. 10. Change the PAT - I'm not sure what to do here. Do we really want to make kickers more important? This season 2pt conv are cpltd about 50% of the time (5-10 last night before TO dropped the ball). What they should do is move the LOS up to the point that it is about 55% cplt ratio. If it was Vegas, then you would always go for two at that ratio, but you know the saying "A bird in hand is worth more than two in the bush", well here, I think that 5% bonus is what is needed to make the decision a 50/50 prop.
  6. Who's laughing now? Addai, Holt, Jacobs (keepers) Driver, T.Bell, Rivers, Gates, Branch, C.Henry, Chicago (drafted) Favre, Foster, Leonard, M.Crosby, GreenBay (FA)

    New Selvin Young Owners

Can I post if I am an old Selvin owner? Farve (drafted, dropped, FA) Holt (keeper) Driver (drafted) Branch (drafted) Addai (keeper) Jacobs (keeper) Gates (drafted) ChicagoD (drafted) Mason Crosby (FA) Rivers (drafted) T.Bell (drafted) Foster (FA) Leonard (FA) C.Henry (FA) GreenBayD (FA)

    Selvin Young..

You are a little to late to jump on this band wagon. I've been keeping an eye on him since he started tearing it up in training camp. In fact, I invested a 2nd to last round pick on him based on that performance because I knew Henry was unreliable (not for the drugs, but getting burned by him in Buffalo.) If you waited, too bad.

    Brandon Jacobs

I think you'll see about a 50/50 split with Jacobs getting goal line duty. This downgrades him to a weak #2 RB. This could be more than servicable. I'd basically take any preseason projection you had for him as sole starter and keep the TDs but lose about 40% of the yards.

    Brett Favre

The problem with Favre is that he'll play awsome one week, then throw 4 picks the next week. Too inconsistent. I can see why he would list all those guys ahead of him. Hell, I cut him after week one and am now just picking him up off the wire. The only other QB on that list who is still a FA in our league is Delhomme.

McNabb says black QBs criticized more than white QBs

There you go, proving his point. How can you compare McNabb to David Carr or Chad Pennington. I really can't blame McNabb. Philly fans are the worst fans in the country. If you listen to Barkley, he basically said the fans drove him out of town. How can you boo a guy, in the first quarter mind you, who took your team to the SB. Who played through some fairly nasty injuries. Who is just coming off a fairly nasty injuries and is not yet 100%.
  12. I think CHEATERS SHOULD BE SUSPENDED FOR 4 GAMES NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Ask Kevin Everett how he feels. Billicheat makes me sick

Which RB will have a better year?

AP baby, this guy is a human bowling ball. Maybe it's a little PTSD after watching him run all over my beloved Longhorns, but I really have the feeling that this kid is going to be something special starting this year. I also like Lynch, but I think AP is the man.

Drafted 5th out of 11 teams, snake redraft

Honestly, your team feels a little weak at WR, I don't think I would be worried about QB. You seem to have done a good job at stockpiling that positiion though, so hopefully there are a couple of gems in there. Your just going to have to be quick on the waiver wire after the first couple of weeks. Be sure you don't do what I do and become emotionally attached to your players. My topic: my question
  15. I'm not sure what happened to the text of my original post, but here it goes again. 10 team 3 player keeper league with standard PPR scoring 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, d,k. I draft 3rd. All teams kept 2 RBs. I kept Jacobs, Holt, and Addai. The following are the best available players: R.Wayne, A.Gates, L.Maroney, TO, E.James and all rookies. I'm thinking I would rank them the following way: L.Maroney A.Peterson R.Wayne A.Gates TO James The problem I'm having though is if Jacobs turns out to be a reliable RB2, then if I grab Wayne or Gates, I think I'm crusing to the championship, but if Peterson is the stud I think he might be (Big 12 bias here), he shoots to the top. What do yall think?
