You might seem disingenuous if you pretend that rap has not glorified violence, misogyny, homophobia, drugs.....as a rule and across the board. Your cite calls this out pointedly, you have a slice of the industry calling it out, but mostly hiding behind it as "art".
I do not have a big problem with these rappers making their art, frankly. I DO have a problem with the duality of going after selective pieces, ignoring others, but this is the essence of leftist mentality, it lacks fairness and logic, it attacks passionately but without any notion of justice or reason.
I have a far bigger issue with the leftist radicals going after their selective targets than I do with the rappers who are essentially exploiting their customers.
Bottom line, I have no right to tell you or anyone else what they can listen to, enjoy as art, speak, think..... none of it.....and you, and no other motherfockers out there, can tell me the same....
The leftists in this nation insist to compel my thought, speech, political positions....as long as they keep their distance, all will be well
To the last, I grapple with thee; From Hell's heart, I stab at thee; For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee.
Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.
