DFS Strategies

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any daily fantasy sports strategies they are willing to share? I've used a couple of my own personal theories throughout the last couple of seasons, but I haven't narrowed in on one specific strategy that I stick with.

Try to pick players that won't suck. I don't spend a lot of time on it. I just throw together a few lineups and pray I get lucky honestly. Matchups are important and so is ownership %. Other than that there is a ton of luck. Who knew Boldin would have been the 2nd best receiver on Thursday?

Lately this season I've been taking an average QB who has a favorable matchup, average running backs, and then taking stud WR's. I'm starting to get away from that now though as it seems like the stud WR's rarely breakout on the same week. I'm thinking about using a more balanced attack again.

The top RBs have been so consistent this season that I've been paying top dollar there and have been able to find cheap WRs that, for whatever reason, are showing promise for a particular week.

I agree here. I have had my best success paying for rbs and finding value at receiver like Rishard, Tyrell, and Pryor. Plus Baldwin gives top production without the cost a lot of times.

I'm going to give the top RB strategy a go today and use guys like Baldwin/Edelman/etc. There seems to be some solid WR's around the $6,600 and under price range (Fanduel) so I'm going to switch it up this week. Thanks for everyone's input.

Tyrell and David Johnson both doing work for me. Williams has been criminally under valued in DFS. I for one appreciate that Hopkins costs more each week

I think Williams bye came at a great time to keep his price low

A couple weeks ago I had my personal best score in a tourney (I only play single entry) at FD of 146.8 and didn't finish in the money. This past weekend, I had a new high in a similar game of 158.1 and I won $3. Woohoo!

Best I can tell, the fewer the participants the better odds of cashing. Outside of that, good luck!!

I had a $100 cash in week 4 that is keeping me in the black, otherwise I'd be doing horrible! lol

I usually put in $10-15 each week.

I lost my work league because Wilson didn't throw one pass. I have come up fractions short multiple weeks. One week I lost by 3 points when ware and Pryor went out before half time

Yea, that definitely seems to be how it goes quite often with DFS. This week on the podcast we did some bargain guys at each position, and I was surprised to see Tyreek Hill at $5,800 on Fanduel. Players in KC's offense typically scare me, but if you look at his recent production, $5,800 is a steal. Thinking about using him at WR and using a couple of stud RB's like David Johnson and Melvin Gordon/LeSean McCoy

I have Hill in most of my lineups. I like Bell and Johnson because they get touches in the run game and pass game so it gives them a high floor. Matchups don't always pan out. For example, the Browns are horrible against the run. So, I used Jennings in mulitple lineups last week and he didn't do squat. lol

This past weekend was a good example of matchups don't always work out. Drew Brees is usually money at home. Not yesterday! lol

I got good scores by putting Stafford, the Patriots D and Jordan Howard into several of my lineups.

Yea, no kidding. I went with a QB like Tyrod Taylor who ran one in for me, and then stud RB's in Gordon and David Johnson which worked out well. I failed to place though because my tight end failed to show up and my defense (Miami) got zero.

Howard and Stafford were in the lineups of those who placed.

Here's another mystery I have yet to figure out. If I put TE Allen in my lineup. He will do nothing. If I don't then he usually has a big day, see last night. Same thing for Titans TE Walker. It's completely baffling to me!

Ha, yea I was on Allen early too since he was so cheap but then I was able to catch Doyle a couple weeks when he was finding the endzone. Tight end play has been a bit of a mystery this year so I've been using average guys with favorable matchups so that I can spend more on other positions and hopefully catch the random good game from that particular tight end

So, this week kind of sucks. There are no byes and no slam dunk matchups to exploit. It's a total crap shoot. I may have to steer away from tourneys altogether.

I like Djohns even at his price. Rawls is very affordable. Sanders is due for a big game. Lockett may also be I yetesting

i faded dj in favor of demarco and fat rob but idk how convicted i am with that. thinking dj and bell will be heavily leaned on. i also fit hill into my flex. i guess ill know how that works out early on. am stacking luck and hilton even though i like cousins crowder in philly too. just my input after this weeks cram session.

Very surprised with how low Jeremy Hill is considering his matchup this week. I know he's struggled with consistency, but I don't think I can leave him out this week considering he's only $6,900 on FanDuel and he put up 26.2 points against them in their matchup earlier this season

I just get this feeling that this is one of those weeks Sanders goes off. He is due for sure. I think his price is phenomenal.

Too bad it was just about the only thing I was right on this week :(
