I like the other if I get the whole group.

Sorry, can't.

It was supposed to be 14 names but I'm limited to ten so I had to lump some together in some way and chose the five that I thought wouldn't get too many votes.

Another way I I could have done it is lumped Bush1&2, Roosevelt/Truman Nixon/Ford, Clinton/Obama but I didn't think that was right either. Kennedy/LBJ would have been too much of a power pairing despite only getting the same 3+5=8 years others get.

No! C'mon.

We've had some great one.

Wait, wait.... is this a trick question?

What year did Belicheck leave Cleveland? It's got to have been at least 20 years right?

How could it not be FDR? No president had more on his plate than him. Came in during the depression and then WW2. What followed was Americas golden age.

FDR.

Da fuq?

After learning as much as I could about the topic, it is my belief that FDR is responsible for goading Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor. He literally shut off the Sea of Japan and starved out Japan, forcing Hirohito to retaliate against the port from which this blockade came: Pearl Harbor.

It was suicide for Japan to attack the US, but they had no choice. As for FDR's motivation: it was to protect Russia from Germany. FDR knew that Russia was in jeopardy of falling to the Nazis, and knew the only way to avert it was to involve a war-weary US in the fight, splitting Germany's attentions both East and West.

We nearly lost regardless.

FDR was a communist sympathizer; communist to his core. It is why the Raw Deal is so communistic at its core: literally permanent redistributionism and the birth of generational entitlements.

I edited my post with a more full explanation. FDR is one of the three worst Presidents in our history.

You think social security is a communist concept? I think it did away with elderly poverty. And what did you want him to do about Japan? Let them run around grabbing everything in the pacific, which they were doing? We all want sanctions against Iran and N Korea today, but FDR taking action against Japan was a bad idea? I disagree. They had no choice? Keep that in mind if N Korea starts lobbing bombs.

Absolutely.

I think it did away with elderly poverty.

I don't think that changes what it is, but appeal to emotion fallacy noted. Were the elderly dying on the streets before that?

And what did you want him to do about Japan? Let them run around grabbing everything in the pacific, which they were doing?

We can talk about this for a very long time, and my position doesn't demand Japan's innocence. I am telling you that history has been intentionally rewritten to mask FDR's true intentions. He is and was a communist; SSI is clearly a massive Ponzi scheme, and FDR is the reason that 3000 Americans died at Pearl Harbor.

All to protect his beloved Mother Russia from the Nazis.

Is that to say that we shouldn't have entered WWII regardless, to protect the world from the Nazis? No. `

We all want sanctions against Iran and N Korea today, but FDR taking action against Japan was a bad idea? I disagree.

Bad attempt at a parallel. It is one thing to exercise crushing sanctions against an entity already embroiled in a World War, and another to quell a growing threat during relative peace time.

The article I posted dumbs it down into 5 of his top worst moves.

Let's also bear in mind that FDR's militant lesbian wife basically ran the country for the better part of his terms.

I know it's before the Criterion, but I've always been a big fan of Teddy.

It was 5 years ago. Back when Troubadour was magnificent turd. He forgot about that and that's how he ended up getting his Alias busted the first time.

You lost me at beloved Russia. And that Ponzi scheme has been working for 60 or so years. No one gets paid in a Ponzi scheme but the guy who starts it. Plenty of people have been paid from SS. They've never missed a payment yet.

Id say purposefully destroying our food while millions of Americans were starving to death is a bad thing. I'd also say single-handedly outline the private ownership of gold was a bad thing. You know it's a bad thing when Gerald Ford of all people has to undo what you did.

There's more...

Social Security Communist? More of a socialist thing...but carry on.

Social Security as it was originally intended was a good thing. The problem is that they have expanded it to try and make it a catch all and that doesn't work.

That's right. If the politicians had left our money alone, there would be no problem with it. It wasn't intended to be used as a general fund for DC to grab from. That's not FDR's fault.

Personally, I think a pole like this would be much better if instead of trying to figure out bestest than worstest you simply asked who had the most consequential presidency.

Or, As Trump recently called it, the most consensual presidency.

As far as consequential presidencies go? One would be hard-pressed not to include FDR in the top of that conversation.

Just because things happened during the presidency doesn't make that president responsible for those things. That's why I would argue for consequential.

Exactly.

Magnificent Bastard probably went back into the archive and read a few years worth of posts just to prep for becoming a regular poster here. Otherwise that would mean that MB has been pretending to be an ex cop and Marine for years.

Obviously anyone who would do that would be a mentally ill piece of sh1t phaggot on par with a Nazi child molester. I refuse to believe that anyone could be such a total loser.
