  1. Steel City Blues

    Excellent hire by the Patriots

Agreed. Dom Capers is one of the best D coordinators.
  2. Steel City Blues

    V Young or E Manning ?

If you were my children, I'd send you to your rooms without Internet. This is a tough matchup for VY against the Jags. Keep him on the bench this week as he gets broken in two ala Madden curse and ride Eli for the rest of the season.

Here's my Gambino Longshot of the week

A cross-eyed heffer at a pub sees more passes than Champ.

New rule in our league this year

8 teams out of 12 make the playoffs. I do like the rule allowing the #1 seed pick his opponent.
  5. Steel City Blues

    V-Jax (Vincent Jackson)

Not starting VJ this week against da Bears. Start 3 of Plax Galloway Hackett Curry Vjax I'm trying to find a way to start Curry against Detroit, but I should stick with the first 3.

Collaborative Geek Start 'Em Sit 'Ems

Pittsburgh Start: FWP - Should see quite a few carries Ben Roethlisberger - Has looked sharp most of preseason Ward - Best all around WR in the NFL Santonio Holmes - Time to show he is good enough to be a #1 WR in the NFL Defense - Charlie Frye (like you need another reason) Sit: Heath Miller (the forgotten man) Pittsburgh should come out to set the tone for the season EARLY.
  7. Steel City Blues

who drafted either Travis Henry or Brandon Jacobs

BJ is my #3 in one league. I passed on Henry because there was always better value at that point in my drafts.
  8. Steel City Blues

I got the biggest laugh at my draft Tuesday

That's the week Hester will break 2 big returns for a TD.

    Fantasy Superbowl Predictions

QB: Drew Brees (NO) RB: MJD (Jax) RB: Tomlinson (Chi) WR: Steve Smith (Car) WR: Hines Ward (PIT) TE: Cooley (SD) K: Vinatieri (IND) D: Chicago Reasoning: It was pretty simple to pick the team. I just look for the one player at each position that has the greatest chance to out produce his teammates. Brees will get his points no matter who has a big game in the show. You never know which WR is going off after Colston. Jax is going to tear up the league this season. MJD is a TD machine & will only get better as the season goes on....you are looking at a top 3 pick next season you keeper league numbskulls. I love Freddy, but his days are numbered. Tomlinson will garner the lions share of the team fantasy points. See Cooley below. Washington is going to be a contendah this season. RB situation is murky & Cooley is going to be the 2nd best TE in the league this year. I think he may out produce S. Moss a high % of the time. Side note: anyone who put Gates here should think for half a second about matching up Gates FF total vs. the people who took Tomlinson. Steve Smith defines the phrase "He's the man" when it comes to the Carolina team's fantasy production. Hines Ward is the vet who knows how to get it done when it counts the most. Those crazy eyes remind me of Junior Seau every time I watch him play. No one loves the game of football more than Hines. The Vinn is the only Indy player with a shot of out producing Peyton vs. Chicago. I hung my hat on Brees as my QB of choice. Bears D is pretty simple. Between Hester and the ball hawking D, they have a realistic chance at scoring more TDs than Benson and Grossman combined.
  10. Steel City Blues

Totally unrelated, but I trust you guys.

I wouldn't touch McNabb this year. Scooter opened my eyes (I hate giving props) earlier in the off season. SA could be good, but I am not hanging my hat on that peg this season. While we are touting our other teams... Just drafted in my 10 team guppy league. Sacrificed WR to load up elsewhere. In the sixth round, I could have had Boldin in lieu of MBIII was my toughest decision. Carson Palmer Schaub Stephen Jackson Addai M Barber III Lamont Jordan Gates Daniels Plaxico Galloway DJ Hackett Vincent Jackson Ron Curry I franchised Addai & got Stephen Jackson with the first overall pick. Can't franchise the same player two years in a row...goofy rule. BTW: No! You cannot join my $100 guppy league.
  11. Steel City Blues

Who was the 6th pick in your 12 team draft?

You mean all 3 of Allstott's TD vultures last season?
  12. Steel City Blues

Totally unrelated, but I trust you guys.

I'm a bit late to the dinner table, but Gates is excellent value here. MBIII would make a tremendous #3 this season.
  13. Steel City Blues

    Any Early Predictions?

Don't think I'm gonna go easy on you just because you forgot to fill your WR roster with studs in a PPR league. It was more a crack on Joc drafting a similar way last year. We were busting his chops when he took RB RB RB with LT2 in his hip pocket. If any team appeared to "reach wildly" it would be mine. I'm the only one here that sees MJD as a viable 1st round pick. Couldn't wait though because he'd be gone before my next pick & I'm trading impared.
  14. Steel City Blues

2nd raid of Vick's property going on right now...

It will tick me off if Vick posts bail and fleas.
  15. Steel City Blues

Rookies finishing among the top at their position

That is the problem with all the hype over "stud" rookies. I won't have Johnson on my roster because Cotchery is a much better pick. I will wait until late rounds and shoot for a flier WR like Meachum. Lynch and AD could wind up on my roster as a #3 or #2 if the draft drops gems at other positions.
