UPDATE: Carson Wentz (ACL) is out for season

Recommended Posts

Wish him well. Unbelievable season for the second year guy.

Rodgers still hasn't been picked up in my league so i'm targeting him with my high waiver priority to try and get me through the playoffs. Wentz definitely did enough today for me before he went down.

Do you think Foles is a good start next week against the Giants? I have Wentz and Mariota, but Mariota was playing on a hurt knee today.

To be perfectly honest, I really couldn't tell you. Today was the first I've seen him do much since his days/day with the Rams. But he did put up some points with the Eagles a few years ago. The best way I can put it, without seeing him fully in this O, is that I have a lot of optimism for his game. We play team qb, so I have Eagles with Cowboys/Dak as my backup. I doubt I'll be starting him over Dak (vs Oakland) next week but I can see him being a decent start with a decent ceiling next week.. problem is, who really knows about his floor?

Another guy who gets his jollies off of injured players.

Your the one that did this.

Please don't post.

Anyone else think they just overused him? Why don't they run the ball more? Opposing defenses pin their ears back because they know Philly is going to pass 50 times in a game.

Overuse may be the wrong word but he has taken way too many hits this season for one reason or another.

I think they overused him last night to the tune of 4 TDs...against me.

I'm going to beat him thanks to Russ Wilson.

I may still win. I'm up 21 points and he's got Drake left. But Drake dropped 22 last week. I'm worryingly pessimistic.

No I don't.

They run the plays they need too to win the game.

He was simply hurt running the ball.

God bless.

Would you go with Mariota or Foles? I've had Mariota all year, but he's been terrible.

I would seriously consider it. With an ailing Mariota and a capable Foles with a good team I would definitely be open to starting Foles over Mariota. And next week is as good as a week there is against the Giants. I actually probably would start Foles against the Giants. Not that it makes a HUGE difference but the 49ers have gotten a little mojo boost with Garoppolo and might be a bit more focused against the Titans.

Vs the Gmen I think Foles could be the better pick up.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Carson Wentz will undergo ACL surgery "within a couple days," and Dr. James Andrews anticipates Wentz being sidelined 9-12 months.

Per Mortensen, Andrews hasn't spoken directly with Wentz, but the noted orthopedic specialist said expectations need to be tempered for ACL recoveries, saying repairs need 9-12 months. Wentz is almost certain to start next summer's training camp on active/PUP with a chance he misses the start of the season. The Eagles will roll with Nick Foles the remainder of the 2017 season.

Maybe up to 12 months gone. Ouch. Hope it's not that.

Thanks for the advice. Tough break, but I still have to wait and see if I get Foles through waivers. If not, I'll have to trust Mariota. San Fran did just give up over 200 yards and 2 TD's to TJ Yates. The really good news is that Kamara looks good to go for Sunday. Loss of both would have been devastating.

Yates also had Nuk to throw to. No one else really did much of anything for Houston, and Mariota doesn't have anyone like Nuk. Not saying he can't do something, just saying.

Np. Yeah, isn't that the truth. Luckily Kamara's injury didn't hurt me in one league but my other it left a big gaping hole that Brady, Landry and Gostkowski need to fill tonight.

that guy is tearing it up this season in a big way.

And to think I (only very briefly) considered not keeping Nuk into this season. I'm glad I kept the faith, I've been a big fan of his since he came on the scene.

And sorry about Kamara, that one's on me.

Overuse may be the wrong word but he has taken way too many hits this season for one reason or another.

From the games I watched they weren't using him enough considering he was a candidate for MVP, but Eagles had expectations beyond regular season only. The play he got hurt was a hit to the chest and another to the ankles from the opposite direction, it happens. Last game was just 1 game, looked like the defense was stopping the run and the passing game was working.

I feel for Eagles fans man, Wentz was fun to watch and was playing at an elite level.

I feel for FF owners who were banking on him for a playoff run. I honestly think I had a legit shot to win a league before this happened.
