SenatorRock 708 Posted December 12, 2018 Yep. He gonna build the wall and drain the swamp. That was the rally cry. Since then crickets. As long as he b!tches and whines for them on TV the trumptards dont care about anything else. Draining the swamp does not happen overnight, unfortunately. There has been progress though. McCain, Flake, Corker all gone from the Senate. Comey, McCabe, Priestap, Strzok, Page all gone from FBI. Lynch, Yates, Ohr gone from DOJ. Brennan gone and stripped of his clearance. Here is the full list of 25 FBI/DOJ who have been removed: FBI Departures: James Comey, director (fired) Andrew McCabe, deputy director (fired) Peter Strzok, counterintelligence expert (fired) Lisa Page, attorney (demoted; resigned) James Rybicki, chief of staff (resigned) James Baker, general counsel (resigned) Mike Kortan, assistant director for public affairs (resigned) Josh Campbell, special assistant to James Comey (resigned) James Turgal, executive assistant director (resigned) Greg Bower, assistant director for office of congressional affairs (resigned) Michael Steinbach, executive assistant director (resigned) John Giacalone, executive assistant director (resigned) DOJ Departures: Sally Yates, deputy attorney general (fired) Bruce Ohr, associate deputy attorney general (twice demoted) David Laufman, counterintelligence chief (resigned) Rachel Brand, deputy attorney general (resigned) Trisha Beth Anderson, office of legal counsel for FBI (demoted or reassigned*) John P. Carlin, assistant attorney general (resigned) Peter Kadzik, assistant attorney general, congressional liaison (resigned) Mary McCord, acting assistant attorney general (resigned) Matthew Axelrod, principal assistant to deputy attorney general (resigned) Preet Bharara, U.S. attorney, SDNY (fired along with 45 other U.S. Attorneys) Sharon McGowan, civil rights division (resigned) Diana Flynn, litigation director for LGBTQ civil rights (resigned) Vanita Gupta, civil rights division (resigned) Joel McElvain, assistant branch director of the civil division (resigned) As for the wall, it is disappointing to see the Republicans in Congress cuck out (just like they did with Obamacare repeal) after campaigning on it for years. And to see the Dems flip flop their position on border security from just a few years ago (wrt to wall, kids in cages, deportations, prosecutions, etc. see Schumer video in the other thread) Progress has been made on the wall with the budget he has had to work with, but he can't just pull $5 billion out of his ass like Obama did for Iran. I believe there is room in the military budget but not sure how it is appropriated.

mobb_deep 917 Posted December 13, 2018 I don't pay too close of an attention to either FOX or CNN, but it's funny that the lead story on CNN is not even a story on FOXNEWS right now... I can see how it would be easy to be completely brain washed, if you only read one or the other. At any rate, here's the story directly from the DOJ. https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/michael-cohen-sentenced-3-years-prison "AMI admitted that it made the $150,000 payment in concert with a candidate’s presidential campaign, and in order to ensure that the woman did not publicize damaging allegations about the candidate before the 2016 presidential election. AMI further admitted that its principal purpose in making the payment was to suppress the woman’s story so as to prevent it from influencing the election. The agreement also acknowledges, among other things, AMI’s acceptance of responsibility, its substantial and important assistance in this investigation, and its agreement to provide cooperation in the future and implement specific improvements to its internal compliance to prevent future violations of the federal campaign finance laws."
