#5979222 ** Round 11 - 16 Commentary - July PPR Mock 2017 **

I've gotta go with my gut here.  After using him sparingly to start the season they turned him loose in week 10.  In weeks 10 and 11 he ate up 234 from scrimmage and gave them a glimpse at their future.  He has good size, speed and great hands.  I see his numbers mirroring Duke Johnson's with a much higher ceiling.  He has the only defined roll in this teams backfield and could walk away with the whole prize if the fat man and pretender underwhelm again.  CJ Prosise is my man and I just don't think he would come back to me at 13.03.  I see another back in a similar situation but with a bit more wear on the tires, CJ it is.

Duke Johnson should be good for 850 to 900 combined, with 55 to 60 receptions, and 4 to 5 Td's.  The perfect rb #3 in the 10th  for a ppr draft.

Gore might be the oldest RB in the draft but a steal as the 28th back taken.  He is still a full service back, a 1200 combined and 7/8 TD guy, on an explosive offense which gives him more opportunity facing loose spread out defenses.

Tate has avg. 140 targets for 96 receptions and 5 TD's over the last 3 seasons.  Last year they went to Marvin a lot the first 5 games then returned to what works and tate still got 94 receptions.  They had a pretty good receiver opposite tate before last season and he still produced opposite of Megatron.  It's safe to say that those yearly averages above are safe in this offense.

Welcome to 4 wr sets and RB by committee. Throw in athletic qbs or a handful of studs and this where we end up.  This why Ppr is necessary and superflex taking off.

Good picks.  Eifert/reed might cancel each other out week to week but they both tend to miss time, and cam can carry a week.

He was the #9 wideout in this format last season and did it in 15 games with a slightly more crowded receiving corp.

Mike hit the Jackpot here.  This might as well be the land between the Tigris and Euphrates as far as this industry goes.   It floors me yearly when I realize that it all started here.....I mean IT ALL!   AND IT'S STILL ALL FREE!!!   Kudos Mike!

I check out many sources yearly for drafting purposes but always return here for my final decisions.  I'm not saying I follow all of his rankings, but we need diversity.  The same goes for in season week to week decisions.  You can go anywhere for the cookie cutter crap.   Mike goes out on the limb and gives you options that can aid your season or simply your week.

I considered two other rookie backs along with 3 vets for my #5 RB. I felt the other two rookies had more of an uphill climb for touches this year, and the three vets were limited to what we knew about them and thus still on the board. Washington is getting some 1st team reps and already penciled in as the receiving back and change of pace role. He is a 204 pounder built close to the ground drawing comparisons to Westbrook and MJD. Not afraid to go up the middle and effective when doing so, with soft hands. I see him like many of the projections on him. I see him combining for around 700 combined yards, with 35 receptions and 5-6 TD's. He will have a roll this year, in this offense, behind a great line. Murray needs to take the next step, be more decisive at point of attack, or suffer more lost touches to a more instinctive runner.

Sproles and Powell were two of the vets considered here.
