You know how they retire Hurricane Names?

Recommended Posts

They're gonna have to think about retiring the word Catastrophic after this.

Fock, a meteor strike is catastrophic.

A nuke explosion is catastrophic.

The Wind blowing the roof off of Lyle's Bait Shop - Isn't.

I'd say a minimum is being in the top 10 of its era at its position and producing at a high level over a long period of time, but others are less strict and being elite for a very short period is enough.

You'd think after a while they'd run out of names. Didn't Maxine Watters recently sponsor a bill to make the names more racially inclusive? If so and it passes we could have ten hurricanes a day for the next million years and not run out of black people names.

I thought Hurrican Lequasha was last year?

Nah, that was Hurricane Laqueesha...

This topic was catastrophic.

I was thinking more in the line of craptastic.

Let's face it, the entire Florida Panhandle could be wiped out and that would do about $742 worth of damage.

My first name isn't on the retired list...but it was a Cat 1 back in 1963. My middle name was merely a TS in 1973. Both of these occurred years before I was borned.
