cbfalcon 824 Posted June 29, 2017 Die Hard - Maybe the best. Rewatchable. Coolest hero. Yippie-Ki-Yay MotherFuckerrz Commando - young Alissa Milano...and the best ever in terms of the cool one liner after killing someone. "I let him go", "Let off some steam, Bennet", and so many more. First Blood - This scene alone cements First Blood's place on this mountain. I used to have every word of it memorized. Big hit at parties. Rocky IV - Good vs Evil via sports. In Ivan Drago, one could argue the most memorable bad guy in an action movie. Was there a theater crowd in the country that didn't give Balboa a standing ovation as the credits rolled? Hardcore troubadour 12,588 Posted June 29, 2017 The French Connection, while not an action movie, deserves something for the car chase scene, the first of its kind. Also Steve McQueens motorcycle scene in the Great Escape

Read the First Blood book if you ever get the chance. The dialogue in it is way better than the movie.

tanatastic 2,061 Posted June 29, 2017 So, so many and a beloved genre of mine and any non ghey male. Off the top I look at Arnold movies. Predator is among my fav movies ever and will make my list. Next I have to say Terminator 2. I absolutely LOVE the first one but T2 is the high benchmark for action to me. It's simply incredible beginning to end, a masterpiece. Die hard is a movie I really like but honestly haven't seen it more than a few times and not for years. Then we have the newer school and here are really some great ones. John Wick as well as JW2 are both stellar. I loved Sin City as well but I wouldn't call that pure action. Also people are saying Rocky movies, which I love, but those aren't action, they are sports/drama and dont count. I'll have to say the Rushmore is T2, Die hard, Predator and the 4th I really can't say. I would say Braveheart but that's more of a drama I could argue. Also Star Wars is sci if/fantasy, not action. Any dispute can use IMDb as a tiebreaker rather than arguing.

I'll allow Raiders since it's action/adventure but Won't allow Rocky. That's firmly drama/sports. Also Rocky 3 is my fave and 4 is generally considered the worst after 5 even though I love it. And...Tina Turner...youre complaining about that? You LGBTFFJVQ? Nice rack for sure, but that's overshadowed by a "We Don't Need Another Hero" video. Aside from the later Rocky movies most "action" movies of note do not have an MTV video.
wiffleball 4,631 Posted June 29, 2017 You know, my Buddy has this thing where he can look up ANY IP address - and track exactly where it's coming from. I'm swear to God, I'm going to use it on youze people. How can each and every one of your retreads COMPLETELY MISS (or "WIFF" if you will) on THE EXPENDABLES ?! There has never, I repeat EVER been a bigger collection of Action Movie Legends all packed into one (3) film(s). it's like the FotherMockers came DOWN from Mount Rushmore to MAKE the damn movie(s). Seriously? Bruce Willis and his digitally-added hairline (which he insisted upon). Fock, Chelsea Manning could kick his ass. When a movie stars literally ALL of the stars of the movies listed above, THAT's the movie you pick. (Also, what teste-less weasels leave out LONE WOLF MCQUADE?! )

Big downer for me I always thought the Bourne books were some of Ludlum worst. My favorite is the one where the nazis hid a bunch of children all over the world before they fell to rise again down the road and had to be stopped. I should read Ludlum again. Great writer.
