The point I was trying to make is that every illegal gun was a legal one once. If there werent so many legal guns, there would be proportionally fewer illegal ones too.

My point was that our laws against straw purchases and other illegal gun sales are unenforceable if the seller can later claim the gun was lost or stolen.
