What was your favorite football team that wasn't your team?

Recommended Posts

I just saw a commercial for A Football Life with Kurt Warner. Mine would definitely be the St. Louis Rams when he was there. They were fun to watch and had so many likable guys. That's also about the time I got an Xbox and an NFL 2K game. They were fun to play as too.

I liked the 80s Bengals teams. The Greatest Show on Turf was an amazing team and an amazing season too. I hated Mike Martz though so he quickly ruined it.

Late 70's early 80's Baltimore Colts. Bert Jones, Lydell Mitchell, Roger Carr. Also liked the Steve Grogan / Andre Tippett Patriots.

When I was younger...I liked the old Creamsicle Bucs with Doug Williams...Leeroy Selmon..

The Eagles with Jaworski and Carmichael. And the Packers in the early to mid 90s..I wanted them to beat the Cowboys. That bit as I had to watch the Pack beat my Pats.

I was in St. Louis ruining my life at the time so I picked up an affinity for them and the McGwire Cardinals, which quickly dissipated when I returned to Detroit.

Too many to list.

Pre FF, I was hardcore Raiders with a special spot in my heart for the Packers cause I read a great book about Bart Starr in my youf.

FF changed me. Mebbe for the worst..Dunno

FF stopped me from being a true fan of just 1 team and made me appreciate the game more that I think I ever could have.

20+ focking years doing this :wall:

To the question...It's gotta be the 1992 Niners. A team I hate with a passion, but it was the beginning of the second greatest QBs career. (Brady being #1)

Gypsybrat and I drafted him with the #2 pick :pointstosky: ...I think

Bears with Walter Payton. Packers with Favre.

Flipside? Stops being a lifelong Bronco fan when MC dumbass became the coach. He was a classless moron from literally day one.

We didnt have a team within 500 miles when I was a kid. So I mainly rooted for the bears. My dad was from Chicago, and the mid late 80s Bears were cool.

Once we got the titans, they became my team. I breifly cheated on them with the bucs when I lived in Tampa and they were super bowl winners.

As far as just teams I liked to watch play, yeah, those rams teams were great (except when they beat my titans in the super bowl.) Marshall Faulk may be my favorite player Ive watched play.

I have only rather vague memories of those 80s bears teams and the Montana young era niners. Those were good to watch too.

Honestly, I miss defensive football.

Loved the Air Coryell/Dan Fouts Chargers of the late 70's to mid 80's. Always the late game on NBC, with a 35-30 score.

I liked those Bills K Gun offense teams. Wish they could've won one or two.

Oilers with Moon, Jeffries, Hill, Givens, Duncan.

It could be that I just loved playing as them on Tecmo SuperBowl.

The Colts with Manning, Addai, Wayne, Dallas Clark and Bob Sanders. Loved that they had two of my favorite Hawkeyes on their team and they were just fun to watch.

94 49ers

Among the greatest single season teams of all time, team was absolutely loaded.

I can't really think of ever rooting for another football team outside of the 9'ers. I wouldn't think whoever the Pats are playing in the SB counts. Enjoyed individual players through the years but, never cared if other teams won or not.

Well it certainly isn't any Raiders, Broncos or Chargers teams. I really wouldn't say it was related to another pro team as much as it has been who was on my fantasy roster.

1999 Jacksonville Jaguars. Man I loved that team when I was a kid. Still remember when they killed the Dolphins 62-7 and all the adults in the room with blank stairs on their face.

1999 Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bledsoe vs. Brunell game where they both threw for about 500 yards - epic, memorable game.

whats funny to look back is that they were the offensive juggernauts of the league, yet would be middle of the pack in todays game

Jeffries

fyi - it's Jeffires... Haywood Jeffires not Jeffries... which always kinda annoyed me b/c he's called "Jeff Freeze" not "Jeff Fires"... he either misspells or mispronounces his own name.

I have always been a sucker for the under dog.

Been rooting for the Lions, Browns, and Cardinals for a decade.

If I have to pick a specific team/year that is easy:

2007 NY Football Giants.
