Name some guilty pleasure songs you really like

Recommended Posts

I'm sure this thread has been done. Probably multiple times. But I haven't seen one in a while and we have a whole new crop of aliases to contribute. And besides, IT'S FRIDAY :music_guitarred:

Always liked this one. And his other hit, "100 Years"

I heard 2 am by Anna Nalick (on the Garth Brooks channel on XM) this morning. I could listen to that chick sing the phone book, for some reason.

I catch a lot of grief from family and friends for being a Rancid fan as well. Motorhead as well.

What's wrong with liking Motorhead? Lemmy was one of the greatest metal vocalists of all time.

I use to get extremely annoyed by boy bands, little did I know just one short decade later 95% of the top 40 would be gangster rap.

yeah, you are probably right. Different category: "Music you like that others give you grief for"

In fact, if a buddy caught me listening to a guilty pleasure like Manilow or Air Supply, I would probably play Motorhead or Rancid next to try to get some credibility back. :music_guitarred:

It was so bad. I knew it was going to suck when I saw the mother and baby, then I saw the douche with the stupid suit and goatee, then he opened his mouth. I heard three words.

I think you may finally understand why they call it a guilty pleasure. I love educating folks.

Inwoukd say something like Come on Eileen or Mmmbop are guilty pleasures. Those songs have the possibility of making you laugh or remember a good time. That shite you put up makes you want to open a vein.

I'd love that even more than educating you.

The only thing that might be called a "guilty pleasure" for me would be my love for 70's Glam Rock. :headbanger:

The Sweet

Bowie

Sparks

Alice Cooper

Slade

Mott the Hoople

Skyhooks

The Tubes

Suzi Quatro

Roxy Music

99 luftballoons

I don't remember that song when it was out, I first heard it when I was playing Grand Theft Auto. I didn't know what the lyrics meant. Then, a few months back, I was looking up my first Army unit online, Pershing Missiles out of Schwabish Gmund, Germany which was deactivating before I was sent to 2nd Armor I told you about in my war stories.

Anyway, it was just recently that I learned that "99 luftballoon" was a protest song for Reagan's putting those Pershing missiles in West Germany. Strange how that all came together.
